Thanks to Ms. Lin and Mr. Garrison, we had a GREAT school year. Both Ms. Lin and Mr. Garrison gave us really interesting projects. Mr. Garrison taught us that it was okay to fail. He also taught us a lot about technology. Ms. Lin taught us time management by giving us loads of homework.
This, year we had two really fun field trips: Age of Sail and Science Camp. In Age of Sail, we got to learn how it was for sailors in the olden times. Science Camp, we learned a lot about nature. Everyday, we got to go on extraordinary hikes.

Target is a well known store across the United States. Target originally started as Dayton Dry Goods Company, then, it changed to Target in 2000. In 2011, Target declared that they would start opening stores in Canada. Target’s headquarter is in Minneapolis. The products Target sell can vary from toys to vacuum cleaners! Now, Target even sells groceries so their customers don’t need to go to a grocery market to their groceries!

Expedia.... Have you heard of it? If you have, you probably heard it from your parents. You might have heard your parents talking about while planning a trip, but do you really know what expedia is? Expedia is basically just website to help people book their vacation. Expedia is most well known in the United States of America, United Kingdom, and Italy. On October 2011, Expedia was punished by needing to pay 367,000 European dollars. Why did they get fined? They got fined because they were reported to be telling customers that the hotel was full even when it wasn’t, and having them go to a nearby hotel. According to http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/expedia.com, cutomers spend about 44 seconds on each page and around 5 minutes each time they go to the website. People are able to use Expedia in these countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Google is a very interesting company. On special days, they would put up a google doodle for that day. Sometimes, the doodles like the Valentine’s Day would be a video too. These google doodles are always entertaining for kids like us. Another good thing about google is that they have so many useful things that are free! For example, they have Gmail, google chrome, google search, google maps, google earth, google translate, and much, much more. These are all what people use daily. Without google, the whole computer thing would be pretty bad. Google definitely made a big difference in technology.

STAR testing

I always wondered why STAR testing had to be in April instead of at the end of the school year. Here are some reasons why it should be at the end of the school year.
1. Our teacher probably doesn’t have enough time to cover all the curriculum.
2. Our teacher would have extra time to help us review.
3. We (the students) would not be so rushed.
4. If the test was at the end of the school year, our parents will not worry as much about the STAR testing, knowing that the teacher had enough time to prepare.
These are just some reasons why STAR testing should be at the end of the school year.

On this year’s Valentine’s Day, we had a party, but I didn’t even get to take part of this party. Why? I had to go to many doctor appointments. I needed to do this asthma test, an allergy test and an appointment with an allergist.

Markers vs. Color Pencils

Markers vs. Color Pencils, which one is better?
I personally like both because they are just so different. Unlike color pencils, markers are better when you want the color really to show brightly without needing to color very hard. It is also good if you want something to be only one color. But when the marker runs out of ink, you need to throw it away and get new ones. Color pencils on the other hand, are easier when you want your color to be light or if you want your drawing to be a sketch. It is easier if you want your colors to start lighter and gradually get darker because you have more control. Also, when your pencil tip breaks, all you need to do is go sharpen it. Color pencils and markers are definitely both helpful in many ways.

Bubble Wrap

Bubble Wrap is a very odd thing because it is what I think one of the weirdest inventions. It actually can be used for many different uses. It was probably invented for packaging, but people do a lot of other things with Bubble Wrap. For example, some people use it to stall younger kids. They would place a sheet of Bubble Wrap in front of the person’s face and tell them to pop it. In a way, Bubble Wrap can actually make you think pretty hard when doing this because you need to think of ways that would let you pop the bubbles faster and easier. Bubble Wrap also has many more uses, but I will let you think of them yourself, now that you already know some.
