fishing Went out to Stillwater Cove (literally behind Pebble Beach in carmel) with dad today. We were targeting sand dabs and squid since rockfish are off-limits right now. Instead we got a bunch of small to huge pacific mackeral up to 3 pounds. things started slow but after I chummed the waters with some Burger King nuggets I had earlier, i started to hook into them with dad. I beat dad with a 4 fish hookup at one time.
Dad lost 4 fish when they took off with his stringer...so we were off the water by 2:30pm (on at 11am) with 12 fish after i got too tired of dragging all the fish around my yak. We could have gotten dozens more if it wasn't so much work after hooking into them. They put up a big fight more on the kayak than in the water and my boat got covered fish scales and some blood.
