Problem is, they wouldn't succed. One, i can't htink of any reason that anyu state would try to secede from the U.S. Theo nly state that has a chance is Texas.
The problem is that war would probably break out, and the state as no chance of winning. Texas could get help from Mexico, but thats rare.

I think that the prohibitation law was sort of an invasion of freedom, but it was not a very good freedom. The right to get drunk and purposly drink something that harms your body should be stopped, but it is considered and "invasion of freedom".
Something like drunk driving, no thats a protection. Nobody wants the right to go driving while they are drunk because they might get in an accident and cause a lot of harm.

1.What do you have to lose
2.What can you gain from it
3.Do you have enough troops
4.Would the people agree with your descision
5.Do you have the proper supplies(weapons, tanks,etc.)
6.Would you be losing an ally
7.Do you have an ally to help you in the war
8.Do you have a good chance of winning

I think it was telling the world how much it doesn't like Jimmy Carter.

I think that it is important to preserve Niagra Falls because it is one of the greatest natural monuments. I beleive that it should be preserved. I want to know exactly how big it is. Also, i want to go there.

I think Ellis island was a good place to open the immagaration service becuase its and island. i think that the fact thats in an island helps a lot. If an illegal immegrant were to come along, they couldnt get into America without passing through Ellis island first. This is important for the country.
January 7
I don't think that its a good idea because the president should pick the vice president. The VP should not be elected individually, but rather with a president.
I think that this should happen because the P and VP should get along. If they don't get along, then they could spend four years aheiving nothing but aruments. Also, by being elected, the VP gets more power because he is supported by the people. Therefore, the P can't get rid of him that easily.

My first thought would be a very angry and mad one. This is because i did all that fighting, and risked my life in a battle that wasn't even supposed to happen. I would feel used in a way. But then, i would come to feel bad because of all the lives lost that were not supposed to be lost. The people that are now dead, that shouldnt have been dead. They were killed in a battle that wasn't suppoesed to happen.
I know that in war, many lives are lost. But thats just how it is. But, if it was lost in an accidentel battle, then thats just plain unjust.

James Randell:
Maryland, My Maryland
I
The despot's heel is on thy shore,
Maryland!
His torch is at thy temple door,
Maryland!
Avenge the patriotic gore
That flecked the streets of Baltimore,
And be the battle queen of yore,
Maryland! My Maryland!
II
Hark to an exiled son's appeal,
Maryland!
My Mother State! to thee I kneel,
Maryland!
For life or death, for woe or weal,
Thy peerless chivalry reveal,
And gird thy beauteous limbs with steel,
Maryland! My Maryland!
III
Thou wilt not cower in the dust,
Maryland!
Thy beaming sword shall never rust,
Maryland!
Remember Carroll's sacred trust,
Remember Howard's warlike thrust,-
And all thy slumberers with the just,
Maryland! My Maryland!
IV
Come! 'tis the red dawn of the day,
Maryland!
Come with thy panoplied array,
Maryland!
With Ringgold's spirit for the fray,
With Watson's blood at Monterey,
With fearless Lowe and dashing May,
Maryland! My Maryland!
V
Come! for thy shield is bright and strong,
Maryland!
Come! for thy dalliance does thee wrong,
Maryland!
Come to thine own anointed throng,
Stalking with Liberty along,
And sing thy dauntless slogan song,
Maryland! My Maryland!
VI
Dear Mother! burst the tyrant's chain,
Maryland!
Virginia should not call in vain,
Maryland!
She meets her sisters on the plain-
Sic semper! 'tis the proud refrain
That baffles minions back amain,
Maryland!
Arise in majesty again,
Maryland! My Maryland!
VII
I see the blush upon thy cheek,
Maryland!
For thou wast ever bravely meek,
Maryland!
But lo! there surges forth a shriek,
From hill to hill, from creek to creek,
Potomac calls to Chesapeake,
Maryland! My Maryland!
VIII
Thou wilt not yield the Vandal toll,
Maryland!
Thou wilt not crook to his control,
Maryland!
Better the fire upon thee roll, Better the shot, the blade, the bowl,
Than crucifixion of the Soul,
Maryland! My Maryland!
IX
I hear the distant thunder-hum,
Maryland!
The Old Line bugle, fife, and drum,
Maryland!
She is not dead, nor deaf, nor dumb-
Huzza! She spurns the Northern scum!
She breathes! She burns! She'll come! She'll come!
Maryland! My Maryland!
Prediction:
if Lincoln had not been elected president, then slavery may have still been around today, unless a different president after Lincoln or the one that took his spot would have banished it. Top hats would not be that famous, and two days of the Chicago trip would be gone because there is no Lincoln house/museum/statue/park/etc.
West Virginia:
Appalachian Mountains
Baltimore Riot:
1.4 solders died
2.12 civilians died.

British Trde:
I think he cared because he wanted to make a good impresion. He wanted to make them feel like he was being friendly and wanted them to mabye regret their descision.
The battle hymn of the rebublic:
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free;
[originally …let us die to make men free]
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
only have part of it
