Persuasive

A good topic for a persuasive speech would be, why we should have three days of school instead of five. This would be a good topic because there can be two sides to this story. One side might be that it would be good because for the children and the teachers. The other side might argue that school is good for us and it is good to learn new things. This is why I think this would be a good topic.

what should the government focus on the most?

I think that the government should focus on giving money to schools instead of putting money into all this foreing stuff. Schools have been having to give less to art and music programs because the school doesn't get less money from the government. If the U.S. wasn't in debt for giving so much money to foriegn countries they would be able to put more money into schools. Also, I think that the U.S. should get more factories up and running so that we won't have to stay in debt and not have to depend on all the other countries. then, we would be able to pay them back and stay out of debt and depend and support our selves.

Athletes are Paid way to Much!!!

In sports the players are paid millions in one year just to play like 60 games for almost three to four months. All proffessional athletes are paid way to much!
Baseball players are paid millions of dollars every year to hit a ball with a wood bat and through a ball around. What's that about? But, after all of the millions they dare get an attitude if something goes wrong and embarresse their whole team. For example, in 2010 Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies was upset that he didn't hit a ball so he though his bat at the ground, but, the bat shattered and cut his hand and had to get sixteen stiches.
In football, they are payed millions to run back and forth on a field with a ball and to tackle or get tackled. But, in the end they get extremly hurt and think they are all that and a bag of chips because they are some big shot football player. For example, Patton Manning has just come back from a neck surgery and he will go in for the first game and get hurt then be out for the rest of the season. But, even though he will be on a bench he will still have to be payed over a million dollars for doing nothing. An example of attitude is when Elway the coach of the Denver Broncos traded Tim Tebow away because he thought people liked him better. So he traided his best quarter back away because he was jelouse and thought he was better than Tebow.
Also, I believe that the athlete should really only paid that much if they went to the olypics. But, even then they still take advantage of that like Michael Phelppes. He had worked so hard and went to the olympics to swim but he took advantage of all he was making a earning and got caught using steroids then lost everything.
In all, proffessional athletes should be payed way less! Mabey even as much as the average working man. Because in the end they end up hurt, with an attitude, or useing steriods and screwing everything up. Plus, it is just a game, they don't need to be payed so much for doing something that they like and is fun.

There are many characteristics in a person, but each person likes different qualities. The qualities in a person that I like in a person are nice, happy, and caring. First off, a person should be nice to you especially if they are your friend. Also it goes back to the old saying "treat others the way you want to be treated. Next, a person should be happy. I love a person with a smile on there face and is not gloomy or with a bad attitude. Last, I really like a person if they are caring because it is nice to have someone care about you and be there for you if you need them. These are a few qualities that I like in a person.

I think that two things I could not live without would be my mom and chocolate. I could not live without my mom because she is the one who always takes care of me and if anything were to happen to her I don't know what I would do. I could not live without chocolate because it is so delicious and I love its sweet taste when I eat it. I think that in the book A Christmas Carol Scrooge relizes he needs his family and that he can'y live without them and in a way i can relate that to me.

Mysteries

I think that the perfect mystery setting would be in a grave yard at dawn. I think this would be perfect because grave yards are very creepy especially at night when you don't know who or what is there, it makes you always look over your shoulder. But, that is what a mystery should really be, something that make you always makes you look over your shoulder and leaves wondering what will happen next. For example in Hound of the Baskervilles the moor at night sounds scary a mysterious along with the big dark Baskerville Hall. Or I read this book about a ghost that was trying to come back to kill her family. You never new what would happen next and that is really what a mystery should be.

Fear

Recently in L.A we have been learning about fear and how it will affect you and how it affects mysteries.
When we have fear we all do different thing some shake some start feeling sick. But fear can consume us all. Also fear is the thing that makes a mystery really good.
For example, when i get scared I shake and sometimes cry. This is because fear will consume you. It will take over your whole body and take control of your actions.
But, fear is what makes a mystery good because you don't know what will happen next. In a novel fear can also be the plot. But in a book fear is what leaves you at the edge of your seat.
This is what I think about fear in really life and in fiction. In real life you can feel fear. But, in books fear makes an amazing mystery.

In Language Art we have read many stories but my favorite so far is "Charles".
Charles was a funny and ironic kind of story.
In Charles the little boy named Lauri started kindergarten and everyday when he cam home he would insult is fatherbut all his mother would do was correct his grammer.
Everyday when Lauri would come home from school he would tell these srtories about a boy named Charles and what bad stuff he did that day. Oneday when Lauri came home but he was late when his parents asked where had been he said, " Charles did somthing bad so the whole class had to stay after school with him."
A few moths later Lauri's mother goes to a parent teacher comfrence and his mother introduces herself to the teacher but the teacher is acting wierd to her. When Lauri's mother adresses somthing about Charels the teacher says, "There is no Charels in my class."
This story was truley ironic and funny. But what does the teacher mean?

I think that in school so far and through the years I have been a responsibe, relibel, hardworking, trustworthy student. If I were an employer I would deffinantly hire myself as a worker.
First, I think that I am reliable because I can always get something done even if it takes a while. I can multi task if I am needed to. I think that I am responsable because I always finish my work and turn it in on time. I never waste my time I always get strait to work.
Second, I am very hardworking because when I work I have all my energy consantrated on my work and what problems I am working on. I will always help people.
Lastly, I am very trustworthy and you can always trust me with any work or any responsibility. You can alway trust me to my work and do good for the bussiness.
These are just a few of the reasons why I would hire myself if I were an empoyer.

Do I Like School or Not?

To me school is tuns of fun and there is lots to do in school. But, I also have my petpeeves about school. First,at school you get to see and socialize with you friends. I love to talk with friend but, I don't live very close to any of my friends so I don't really get to see them and texting doesn't always cut it for me all the time. Also, at school you don't just sit around all day and do nothing. At my house there isn't very much to do. You might sit in a chair morst of the day in school but you will do work and activities all day long. On the other hand, my one petpeeve about school is homework. Homework isn't a very fun thing to do. To me you learn for seven and a half hours a day five days a week, you really shouldn't have to do homework. I think after a long day of learning you should be able to just go home and rest.
Even though I like to come to school it still has its corks. I hope that school in the future gets even more fun.
