Big Question Activity

Article posted May 8, 2012 at 09:20 PM GMT • comment • Reads 202

I would ask Prometheus the question " Do you think before you act?" I think he would respond, that he does think before he asks because every kid thinks that he think before they act.

Topic blog

Article posted April 18, 2012 at 08:59 PM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 87

The two topics that I think would be the most reasonable are Why people should play sports, and Why teachers should let students text in class. I think why people should play sports is a good topic because you can argue it both ways. Also i think that why teachers should let students text in class because if you seat best friends or friends away from eachother in class they are just going to shout across the room so if you let people text they could just text eachother.

Important people are worth a lot of money.

Article posted April 5, 2012 at 04:24 PM GMT • comment • Reads 63

These days important people don't get paid what they should. For example soldiers fight for the country that we are living in and they don't get paid that much, also some doctors don't get paid a lot (but most of them do.) First off I think that military should get paid way more then they already are. They risk their lives and their loved ones lives to do what they do best, which is fighting for our country, the counrty that the government lives in. The government wastes their money on some things that we don't even need, when they should be paying cops, soldiers, firefighters, doctors, and teachers more then they are making. Secondly the government should be spending their money on important things for our country. For example, helping the enviroment, making prisons and catching criminals more secure. I also think that they should stop worrying about theirs selves and start worrying about the country more. Lastly, the government should pay for saving animals. They should pay the military more for training dogs to into the war, dogs are great soldiers, they are loyal and they will never leave your side unless you tell them to. Animals are down-graded, for example we aren't paying enough to save them (dogs, cats, horses, etc.) we should pay more for animal shelters and the humane society. This is what I think about the government paying too much.

Important people are paid way under

Article posted April 4, 2012 at 04:07 PM GMT • comment • Reads 93

Is anyone worth 95 million dollars? Or let alone any job? Professional Athletes are paid way too much for just playing a sport that everyone can basically play. Also compared to everyone else thats important in the world.
First off, soldiers only get paid by the check, they also risks their lives in order to protect the country that they love. Their families may not see them again, also the families have to take care of their kids why the husband/wife is deployed. Sometimes the families don't have enough money to take care of the kids why the soldiers are deployed.
Furthermore, Firefighters are also very important to the world, they fight off fires in order to save someone in a house or if someone is trapped somewhere where they can't get out. Most of the time firefighters are just volunteers and don't even get paid for doing what they love, which is saving peoples lives. But for the firefighters whos jobs are to save peoples lives and who are not volunteers, their average salary they make is only $38,810.
Lastly, cops/police catch criminals and they also risk their lives and sometimes even their families lives doing what they love to do, which is to get the bad people off the streets.
Hjelm claims that " Entertainment is not needed nearly as much as countless other occupations." And I for one agree with him, cops, firefighters, and soldiers fight and save peoples lives. Also there are way more important people in the world who don't get paid as much, some even make less then one percent of athletes incomes.

Christmas Carol

T&B: In a dream I think my dad would come and visit me and tell me to keep doing what I was doing.

Past: My dad would show me in the past, holding my bottle when I was 6 months old (no lie). Also he would show me when I was born because I wasn't alive.

Present: In the Present he would show me playing soccer with him on the side lines coaching me. He would also show us driving in the car traveling to many places.

Future: In the future he would show me going to Ethiopia with him to help give medical to the orphans. After that he would show me graduating and him standing and cheering for me.

C: In the end he would say just keeping doing what you are doing.

Lossing soldiers

Article posted February 6, 2012 at 11:38 PM GMT • comment • Reads 55

B: In the world there are many people who die in action. They leave their families and friends.

T: I apperciate every soldier who fights for my freedom. So when they don't return to their families I try to respect every soldier a little more. Everybody heals in a different way so some of the ways how people heal are....

First off:
1. Honor them Go to the memorial
Go to their name on
the memorail wall
Think of them

Secondly:
2. Respect other Thank them wherever
soldiers you are

Lastly:
3. Continue Think of them every
so often
Keep going on with
life
Don't get depressed

C: If people do these things then they will never forget who they raised. They will never forget their son or daugther.

What I couldn't live without

Article posted December 6, 2011 at 01:12 AM GMT • comment • Reads 72

I don't think I could live without my clothes. I mean I wouldn't mind if I wore the same clothes everyday, but I just couldn't live without them. One reason is because I wouldn't want to go around with no clothes on. Also some people take a lot of things for granted like clothes, like my dad goes to Ethiopia sometimes and those kids over there don't have anything so I definetly don't take anything for granted.

Mystery Settings

Article posted November 17, 2011 at 11:00 PM GMT • comment • Reads 433

I think that a great mystery setting would be in a place sorta of deserted where barely anybody lives.I think this would be a great setting because really nobody lives there and everybody would know everybody. So if someone went missing then people would realize instead of not noticing.

Favorite Short Story

Article posted October 6, 2011 at 12:16 AM GMT • comment • Reads 76

I would have to say that my favorite short story would have to be "Amigo Brothers."
I like this story because it has a good message in it. The message is that you should always be true to yourself even if you are fighting your best friend. You have to stay in the fight but you also have to not have the fight come in between your friendship. I also like this story because it reminds me of a perfect Hollywood Blockbuster. Why it reminds of a hollywood blockbuster is because of the way you can picture intense music.
This is why I like the short story "Amigo Brothers"
