Think Before You Act

Article posted May 11, 2012 at 12:41 AM GMT • comment • Reads 222

If Prometheus was asked "Do you think before you act?" I think he would respond saying "It depends on the time." I think Prometheus did the right thing by giving humans fire but he obviously wasn't thinking that Zeus will explode.

Top prioritiy for the federal government to fund

Article posted April 5, 2012 at 04:59 PM GMT • comment • Reads 74

I would fund Medicare first out of all three of those choices because I find Medicare to be the most important. I think being healthy is more imprtant than going to school becuase if you are sick you can't go to school in the first place. That is why i would for medicare in the next fiscal next year.

Pro Athletes Are Getting Paid Too Much?.

Article posted April 4, 2012 at 04:10 PM GMT • comment • Reads 58

Accroding to Hjelm professional athletes are getting paid too much. I definantly agree to his opinion. I think that sports games are just entertainment and is not like poliece men or firemen that actually save people's lives. I think policemen and firemen should get paid more than professional athleates.

WWI and The Hobbit

Article posted March 20, 2012 at 04:30 PM GMT • comment • Reads 58

WWI started from an asssination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The Battle of the Five Armies started from who wanted the money. The real war ended up better in my opinion because it wasn't as violent and not as many people died from it.

Holes In My Sidewalk

Article posted February 6, 2012 at 06:04 PM GMT • comment • Reads 65

Everyone has flaws, including me. My flaw is not being organised. Here are three ways I can fix this. One way is getting a better binder. With a better binder I can keep things in one area. Another way is putting things in order in that binder. With that I know when I did an assignment and can get it out easily. The final way is to right things in my planner more often. If I do that that is another way to know when i did an assignment. Those are three ways I can stay organised.

Be The Change

Article posted February 3, 2012 at 02:26 AM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 69

Some kings rule their kingdoms sitting down
Surrounded by luxury, soft cushions and fans
But this King stood strong
stood proud
stood tall

When the driver told Rosa
"Move to the back of the bus!"
When the waiter told students
"We don't serve your kind!"
When the Mayor told voters
"Your vote don't count!"
And when the sheriff told marchers
"Get off our streets!"
using fire hoses, police dogs and cattle prods
to move them along
This King stood strong
stood proud
stood tall
Speaking of peace
of love
and children
hand in hand
free at last
free at last

When some yelled for violence
For angry revenge
An eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth
He stood his ground
Preaching peace

And when some spit out hate
He stood there smiling
Spreading love
Until it rolled like the sea across the land
Sweeping away Jim Crow
Breaking down the walls
Ringing the bell
Joyfully
For Freedom

Until
Standing on the mountain top
They shot him
Coldly
Hoping to see him fall
Hoping to put him away
To bring him low

But this King
even in death
even today
stands strong
stands proud
stands tall
And we remember

by Jamie McKenzie

I thought this poem was great. It is exactly what Martin Luther King Jr. did in his life, by standing up to people even if they did put him in prison. He influenced many people with what he did.

Mystery Setting

Article posted December 1, 2011 at 05:51 PM GMT • comment • Reads 53

In my opinion a really good mystery setting would be a dark house with no lights that light up. The house would have broken windows and spiders crawling everywhere! Somewhere inside the house there would be a murder or something valueable was stolen in the house. That would be my perfect mystery setting.

Fear

Fear can effect us in many ways. For example, in the story, "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" the people got so scared of the events that were going on the people were the ones that became the monsters.

My favorite story

Article posted October 6, 2011 at 05:04 PM GMT • comment • Reads 478

My favorite story is "Charles." I like the irony in "Charles." My favorite part of the stroy is the ending, when it turnes out Laurie was doing all the bad things Charles (his made up classmate) was doing. I thought it was the best story out of all the short stories do to the irony.

Would I HIre Myself???

Article posted September 12, 2011 at 05:04 PM GMT • comment • Reads 92

Would I hire myself? I would hire myself because I am a good worker. (except for Mondays) I like to cook so if i was going to work at restaraunt I would hire myself. I am not good at concentrating for long periods of time so if a job requires that I wouldn't hire myself.

Why I love going to school.

Article posted August 24, 2011 at 05:34 PM GMT • comment (3) • Reads 447

There are three reasons why I like going to school evry day. The first reason is lunch. The pizza is delicious. The school gets Black Jack pizzza and it is very delicious. The next reason is learning. Mrs.Thomassen's language arts class is the best of all classes. :D The final reason is band. I love musical insturments, that is why I like to go to band everyday and play the trumpet. Eventhough school can be stressfull I still like to go to school everyday.
