The Base Ball Game

Article posted May 3, 2012 at 03:46 PM GMT • comment • Reads 379

The next day after the day that Lucette got out of her cage, Derek, Rory, and Bolivia entered a base ball game for boys and girls. A few weeks after they practiced they had a base ball game. When they were playing the game against the other team, they hit the ball and Bolivia didn’t catch it. Rory and Derek got mad at Bolivia for not catching the ball.
So they sat Bolivia out for a little bit and then Bolivia’s Coach let Bolivia back into the game and she told Derek and Rory that she would not let them down. So then Bolivia got a base ball bat and when the pitched the ball and the bat went back and hit Bolivia in the head. She fell a sleep for a little bit so Rory and Derek threw water on Bolivia to make her wake up. When she awoken Rory and Derek had a big base ball trophy and they weren’t mad at Bolivia any more.

The next day Bolivia, Derek, and Rory’s friends got so excited to see Bolivia. They got her get well presents and then Bolivia saw a new girl named Skylar. Bolivia said hi to Skylar but Skylar was too shy to say hi back to Bolivia. The boys got a little mad but Skylar had a brother named Austin and son got along with Derek and Rory. Derek and Rory liked to hang out with Austin and Austin thought the same about Rory and Derek. They started to hang out and Bolivia and Skylar were having so much fun together. Bolivia invited Skylar to her house. So Derek and Rory invited Austin to their house. They had so much fun.
Bolivia and Skylar had so much fun with each other that Bolivia hardly even talked to the boys. But then the boys started to feel sad because they were just getting to be friends with Bolivia and then she met a new friend. The boys said, but now they knew how Bolivia felt when they did not want to talk to her. The boy’s yelled school is almost here!!!!

So their moms took them to the store to get their materials for the beginning of the year. They were so scared because they were going into middle school. They were going to a school that they wouldn’t know any body there. Rory and Derek got sad at the fact that Bolivia had to go back home. They had three more days in till school! Bolivia had to go home and get ready for school. When Bolivia was gone the boys were sad. Then the day after they went to school, they met a girl exactly like Bolivia and had so much fun. Then the boys heard that they were going to visit Bolivia in the summer again. They were very excited. That is what got them through their school year.

Thank you for reading my story.

Persuasive Essy

Dear Mom and Dad,
I have wanted a miniature hamster for a long time. I am going to write a letter to you explaining why I think getting one is a good idea. I’m sure after reading this you will agree with me.
Miniature hamsters are very small. This means that they will not take up any room in the house it will go in my room in the corner where my popcorn machine is.

I will always will read to it at night. If I read to it at night and I will get faster at reading. I will want to work harder for it every single day.

If I had a minicher hamster it will teach me a lot of responsibility. I will feed it, I will clean up after it also I will cuddle with it.

After reading this I am sure you’ll agree that getting a minicher hamster is a wonderful Idea after all.

HATTIE’S BIRTHDAY BOX

Article posted December 15, 2011 at 08:03 PM GMT • comment • Reads 277

The empty box helps Hattie get through hard times because the box is full of hope. To begin the box is very special to her because her brother made it for her and put her initials on the box. The initials on the box were HMcB. When it was his birthday his sister Hattie was coming to see him. It was his 100thbiirthday party.
He was very scared that his sister Hattie was coming because he has not seen her for a long time. Also he was scared that she would be mad at him for not getting her anything for her wedding day.
When his sister arrived she explained how the boxed helped her through tough times. For example the box brings her hope so when her son died and when the crops caught on fire their neighbors were being neighborly and gave them some of their food, she didn’t need to open the box. She finally opened the box when she saw her brother on his 100th Birthday. The box was empty but it always brought her hope. The man was surprised and happy because she wasn’t mad at him for not getting her a wedding gift.

What makes a good story?

Article posted November 18, 2011 at 05:04 PM GMT • comment • Reads 349

You read to me and I will read to you is a good story because it has little scary tales. There is a poem that has a witch and the broom. It also has a golden coin on its cover that means it won poetry an award. Every one of the poems has a funny tale to say. I also think that misery books good books to read. Also I think they are good because you do not know what is going to happen next in the story. As you can see I like all kinds of books.

Across the wide dark sea

Article posted November 10, 2011 at 09:02 PM GMT • comment • Reads 298

Dear Mandy,
I wanted to tell you about my Mayflower trip. It was scary because my dad almost fell overboard but my mom was helping me through all kinds of ropes over the edge. Thankfully we got my dad back on the ship. Everyone was so happy that my dad made it back on the ship. We were so grateful that my father was ok. My mom and my dad were thanking every one.
We almost got to land and we were excited about making it to the new land. We heard the lookout shout, “Land ho!” We were crowding on the deck. We saw all kinds of beautiful trees not like the England trees. But the good news is that we do not have to follow any ones religion. I feel very happy that we made it all right to the new land but the bad news is that a lot of us are very sick.

Sincerely
Alexa Nunez

Ben Franklin had many big ideas. First, he thought that electricity and lightning were the same thing. He proved it by using a lightning rod and a bell. The lightning struck the rod and made the bell ring!!!!
Ben Franklin was also involved in politics. He lived in England and America. He went to France to join America In the war. Finally Ben Franklin helped to write the us constitution. The us constriction was written to describe what the united states would be like.

WILLIAM SHAKESPEAR AND THE GLOBE

Article posted November 4, 2011 at 09:53 PM GMT • comment • Reads 345

Why did Ben Johnson say that Shakespeare’s writing was for all time? People still enjoy his writing because he wrote about his feelings and people’s feelings. He wrote about it a long time ago and people still relate to that today.
He invented some 2000 words. Here are some of the words that we still use today: manager, football, eyeball, upstairs, down stairs, puppy, bed room and farmhouse. I thought that it was kind of interesting.

Everglades

Article posted November 3, 2011 at 09:57 PM GMT • comment • Reads 331

First the Everglades was created by seashells that formed a rock called lime stone. The lime stone was building up and it was making land but every time it rained the land would make a hole. One time it rained really hard and that made a really big hole on the land.
That big hole made Lake Okeechobee. Then Lake Okeechobee spilled over all the way to Florida bay. It was fifty miles wide and only six inches deep in most places. I hope to learn more about the Everglades by reading more about the ever glades.
