Do you know about oxygen, uranium, and barium well if you don’t then I am going to tell you. All of these elements are from the periodic table. There are a lot of elements in the periodic table but I am only going to tell you three. I hope you learn a lot!
The first element I will be telling you about is oxygen. Oxygen is not a solid or liquid it is a gas. It was discovered by Carl Sheele. It is an element in the earth’s crust it makes up 21% of the atmosphere. It does not have any color it is colorless. Oxygen is all around us it is what we breathe. Trees make oxygen for us without trees we would not be alive. Oxygen’s melting point is -218.7916, and its boiling point is -182.95.
The next element I will be telling you about is uranium. Uranium was discovered by Martin Klaporth in 1789. It was named after Uranus the 7th planet from the sun. Uranium does have a color it is silvery-white. It reacts with steam and acids. For a long time it was used as pigment for glass. Uranium’s atomic weight is 238.02891. Its boiling point is 1897oc.
The last element that I will be telling you about is Barium. Barium was discovered by Sir Humphry Davy in 1808. It is a soft slivery white metal, and it reacts with water. Barium will never be found pure due to its reactivity. Barium needs to be under kerosene to stay pure. Barium is used for filters, rubber, plastics resins. Barium burns awesome green and is used in fireworks.

Do you know facts about Sacagawea well if you don’t then I am going to tell you. Sacagawea’s real name is Boinain. She was the daughter of the Shoshone chief, she was born somewhere around 1788 in Lemhi county, Idaho. When she was 12 she was captured by an enemy tribe and was sold to a French-Canadian trapper who forced her to become his wife.
Did you know that Sacagawea helped Lewis and Clark with there expedition. Lewis and Clark started there expedition in Pittsburg, PA August 30, 1803. They met Sacagawea in North Dakota, Bismarck. The expedition took 2 years and 25 days! Clark had a notebook that he used for the expedition he wrote in it every single day. The ended the expedition November 7, 1805.
If I was interviewing Sacagawea these are some of the questions I would ask her. How old where you when you started the expedition? How old was your father when he died? When did you have your baby? Where you scared when you were captured by the tribe? Those are some of the questions that I would ask her.
I hope that you learned a lot about Sacagawea and her life thank you for reading.

Hello my name is Kelci and I am going to finish a story called Hot and Cold Summer. Hot and Cold Summer is about two boys who spend the summer with a girl. They make a vow that they will not talk to Bolivia. But Bolivia planed a morning for them. She lets her bird out on purpose to get them to talk to her Now I am going to finish it.
"Rory and Derek, do you want to come to my house?" said Bolivia. "Sure," they said at once. "Ok meet me there at 10:00, and we will play with Lucette". The next day… ding dong, "hi guys follow me, Lucette is in my room." “Hello there,” said Lucette "hello there yourself" said Derek. "Hurry up Rory," who is still downstairs. "Ok I'm coming," said Rory.
"Owww," "Rory what’s the matter," said Derek, "I think I twisted my ankle,". Bolivia and Derek came rushing down the stairs. "Aunt" called Bolivia 'Rory hurt himself,". "Aunt" called Bolivia Again. Bolivia's aunt came over to them. "I think you broke your ankle lets take you the doctor’s to be sure." At the doctors office… "yep you got a broke ankle sonny" said Mr. Dean "I will get a cast on you just wait here for a sec". "I don’t want a cast," said Rory "you have to," said Bolivia’s Aunt. The doctor comes back.. "ok this won’t hurt a bit," a few minutes later… "ok you can go home now".
"Derek I have an idea, let’s plan a get well party for Rory," said Bolivia. "Aunt can we plan a party for Rory." "Great idea," said Bolivia’s aunt "I will go and get the decorations," "OK," "me and Derek will order the cake." “Bye” "Lets get started we need to find out the bakers number." "Found it," said derek "can we order a cake ok thanks bye." A few minutes later... "OK cake is here." "ding dong" "I’m back" said Bolivia’s aunt "OK he’s coming," "I'm back said Rory." "SURPRISE" "is this for me," said Rory. "Yep" said Bolivia "lets eat."

The Jr. iditarod

Do you know how the racers and dogs are safe in the Jr. Iditarod? Well if you don’t than I am going to tell you. If you read on you will learn a lot about the Jr. Iditarod enjoy!
Did you know that every single racer carry’s 2lbs of hamburger meat per dog? So he would carry 20 lbs. of hamburger meat and dry food. You won’t see a racer carrying a gallon of water. The way they get water is by melting snow.
Another way they keep the racers safe is using checkpoints. You’re probably thinking how are checkpoints safe. Well I have a good reason if a racer is lost the people at the checkpoint say, “he should be here by now”. Then they go and look for him.
Also at the checkpoints the racers check there dogs for web cracks and splits. If they do find any web cracks they put on booties to protect there feet while they run. If the find any splits in their feet they put on ointment.
When the racers get to the half way point they are required to stay at the half way point 10 hours. At the half way point the can feed the dogs check there feet for web cracks and splits there is a log cabin were visitors can stay but not the racers they are also required to stay with the dogs and sleep with them they lay down hay to keep warmth.
So have you learned how the racers and dogs are protected? If you have than good now you might want to watch an Iditarod race. To see if they do it the way I told you. I hope you enjoyed my essay!

Dear Mom,
I am writing a letter to you. I know I have a bird but every time I come home she seems lonely. I want to show you how responsible I will be with two birds. I am doing this for my bird to get her a friend I hope you like it!
One of the reasons I should have another bird is that I just can’t focus in school knowing that my bird is sitting in her cage not knowing what to do. With a friend she could be doing numerous things.
Another reason I should get another bird is that I will pay for everything all I need from you is your permission. They're only $19.99 I will pay for the cage, food, toys, pads for the bottom of the cage, and of course the bird. I am thinking of a name for her.
I would try my hardest to play with them both by putting them on my shoulder every day. Also letting them play on the play set at least three times a week. I will make sure that they have fresh food and water all the time. You could give her to me for an early Easter present.
I will be very responsible with two birds. I will give her lots and lots of love. I am doing this for my bird not for me. So that is it I really hope that you were persuaded and I also hope that you enjoyed it.
Sincerely,
Kelci

To Nebraska

One sunny warm morning Otto and I packed up for our trip to Nebraska we are going to homestead there. It was long, and boring. The wagon always bumped. The only food that we had were yams, soup, biscuits, and potatoes. We had to sleep under the wagon. Under the wagon there were small, lumpy, bumpy rocks. Also during our ride rats kept getting in our food. The trip to Nebraska was not fun at all. But then 2 months later we got there it was a plain open land with some trees.
So as we start to build the house a storm hits, there is lightning and thunder. It is like a hurricane out there. Me and Otto are hugging each other we are scared and we watch as our house starts blowing down. Otto tells me that “there is no more wood, and no more brick.” That is what made me think of the box.
I found the box were I left it under the seat of the wagon. I tell Otto that we do have wood, and brick because I have this box Spencer gave me. He said that there is something in there that is expensive maybe a gold necklace, or a diamond bracelet. This could help us. So I take the box as I start to open it I realized that there was nothing in there. It feels like my heart stops I am so surprised that Spencer lied. I say to Otto you were right there is no wood, and brick. There is nothing in the box. After I closed it I also realized that the storm was done and our house is gone
We get out from under the wagon go to where the house was and all that was left was broke wood and brick. I say to Otto what are we going to do then Otto said “what if we cut done some of the trees.” I say that is brilliant. So he went and cut some trees came bake and we made a log cabin.
The end!!

The Mayflower Journey

Dear Aunt Lidia,
How are you doing? I really miss you and how is the dog, and the family? Let the whole family see this letter. Hopefully you will get to visit the new land. I hope that we keep in touch.
A few weeks ago I boarded the Mayflower. I thought that it was going to be a wonderful trip but I was wrong our food is infested with mice, rats, and bugs. We ran out of salted pork so we had to eat moldy biscuits, and moldy cheese. It is damp, and wet, which is making people sick.
Today there was a bad storm and you will never believe what happened, it was windy and stormy. The sailors had to send us down below deck. I was urging my sister to come and get below deck too. But then a huge wave came and swept her overboard
I fell to my knees and started to cry but just when I thought she was gone the sailors rushed into action. They threw ropes overboard, she grabbed one of the ropes and they started to pull her up. When she fell on the deck, I ran to her and took off my apron and wrapped it around her. I took her bellow deck, some of the sailors got her towels. She got a cold but she recovered the next day. Miss you!!!
Love,
Alexa
P.S. make sure to feed Bruno the dog.

Ben Franklin

Do you know Ben Franklin’s big ideas? Well if you don’t I will tell you some. I hope you enjoy my essay.
Did you know that Ben Franklin published the first almanac? He published his first almanac in 1733. He called it poor Richard’s almanac. He made sold about 10,000 copes every year! He did that for about 25 years. In his almanac he would talk about the whether, when and what to plant, he also put in some jokes.
You probably know that Ben Franklin discovered that lightning and electricity are the same. He tested this theory by inventing the iron rod. He would put it on a Box big so that a man could fit. So the man would stand inside the box and write what would happen. He also tested this theory by raising a kite with a key on the bottom. He could feel the electric shock come thought the key.
Did you know that in the spring of 1757 that Ben was sent to England to argue about the taxes that they were laying down. When he was in England he was shouted at, laugh at, and insulted. Bens wife Debbie died the year before Ben came home.
the End
