Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth was an amazing base ball player! He was born Feb 6, 1895 and died in September 16, 1945. In this essay I am going to tell you all about babe Ruth!
Babe Ruth is an unusual name; it’s not his real name though. His name is George Herman Ruth Jr. His nickname was given to him was Babe Ruth because he was the youngest player on the red sox! That is how he got his nickname!
Babe Ruth started majors July 11, 1914. He ended the majors May 30, 1935. It’s cool because he was a 2 time all-star. He was traded to the Yankees in 1918 from the Red sox. He started to have a passion for baseball at his catholic school.
Now I am going to talk about his personal life (family). With his first wife Ellen he adopted two kids. After that he divorced and married an actress and had two daughters.
Even though he died he is a great base ball player!

The Three Elements Rubidium, Titanium and magnesium!

As you can see I am going to write a report on three elements! They are all very interesting in my opinion. I hope you like my report!
The first element I am going to be talking about is rubidium! Its symbol is Rb. It was discovered by Robert Wilhelm Bunsen and Gustav Robert Kirchhoff. It was discovered 1861 Rubidium is highly reactive in water. It is a type of metal. That is a little bit of info for now!
Rubidium is used in several things! The first thing is that it is in photo cells! I did not know that before, that is really cool! It is also used as a catalyst. It is also used in special glasses and since it is easily ionized, it might be used as a propellant in ion engines on spacecraft. Rubidium is used in vacuum tubes as a getter, a material that combines with and removes trace gases from vacuum tubes. That is what it’s in!
There are still a few more facts left! On of them is that the atomic number, it is 37! The melting point is 38.89 degrees c, and the boiling point is 688.0 degrees c. its crystal structure is cubed, it sounds awesome! Did you know it’s obtained from lithium production? Well, you know now! It’s in the alkali metal group! Well, that was all about Rubidium!
Ok, the next element is Titanium! It was discovered by William Gregor in 1791. Its symbol is Ti. It is unreactive in most acids! I hope you learn a lot from the rest!
At first I did not know what titanium was, but now that I have seen what it is in and it’s interesting! One of the things it’s in is paint (did not know that!)! It’s also used in rubber and paper. That’s what titanium is in!
These are some important facts about titanium! The atomic numero is 22. Its melting point is 1668 degrees c and the boiling point is 3287 degrees c! Titanium is as strong as steel! Thank you!
As you probably know this next element is magnesium! It was discovered by Sir Humphry Davy in 1808! The symbol is Mg. I hope you enjoy!
Magnesium is very light wait. It is malleable. It is a silvery white metal that burns in air with a white flame. It responds to water when the temperature elevates. That was some info, hope you learned!
Magnesium is used for airplanes and missiles! That is sort of cool! Its atomic number is 12. Its melting point is 650 degrees c and the boiling point is 1090 degrees c. thanks again!

The Hot and Cold Summer at the Pool!

This summer at first Derek and Rory were not the best of friends with Bolivia. But now Derek and Rory go to her house all the time and visit her and lucette. They are probably going to have a fun summer after all!
Derek and Rory love to go to the pool! They were going to go to the pool. So they stopped by Bolivia’s house, she had gotten a membership card! Derek asked her if she wanted to go with the pool with them. She nodded slowly. “Great we will wait here” Rory said. She came out in her bright pink swim suit with a dress on top. They were on their way.
Derek, Rory and Bolivia arrive at the pool. The boys jump in as soon as they get there, but Bolivia just sits down in a chair. “Come on Bolivia, jump in!” Rory said. “Ummm….. I’ll wait a while.” Bolivia said. She did not want to admit her secret. “Ok, what ever you say.” Said Derek.
Derek and Rory had been swimming for about 15 minutes. “Bolivia, you have been acting weird aren’t you going to get in?” Derek was worried about Bolivia. “The truth is that I can’t swim.” Bolivia said. “Oh, that’s why, get in we’ll teach you how, don’t sweat it.” Rory got Bolivia to get in. She was not a pro, but she was getting the hang of it!
Bolivia ended up learning how to swim! It was a fun summer at the pool! That’s it!!!! ; )

The Iditarod cares a lot about the racers and dogs safety! In this essay I am going to tell you how they keep them safe. I hope you learn a lot from this essay!
One way they keep the racers safe is the checkpoints! The racers run for a long time, so in order for the dogs to be refreshed and hydrated they have these. Another reason they have these checkpoints is so if the racers don’t get there in a long time they know to go looking for them! That is one way they are safe!
The dogs have to run a lot during the race! They need a brake sometimes and that is why they need to stop at the check points for ten hours so the dogs can rest for a while. The people have to check the dog’s feet for cracks, which is why they put little booties on so there feet won’t hurt. This also gives them time to feed the dog’s food and water! That was another example!
It takes a long time to finish the Iditarod. So to keep the dogs fed each racer is required to carry 2 lbs per dogs of meat for the dogs. Before the race they are supposed to eat 4 lbs so they are ready to race!
There are a lot of ways the Iditarod keeps the racers safe! I hope you liked my essay. I think its good that they keep the racers safe!

Dear mom and dad,
You guys are awesome parents! You would be even better parents if you got me and Ipad 3! In this essay I am going to explain why I should get and Ipad 3 and why I want it! I hope you consider because everybody has one!
Admit it; you guys really want an ipad 3 also! It is not really buying it for me; it’s like buying it for you! We can all share it. Mom, I know you really wanted one, if you buy it you’d be treating yourself too! I am sure it would be fun for you guys and my brother too.
I pads have really fun games! Some of the games can be academic and help me with school! In math I have a three every time we get a report card, but I want to bring that three up to a four! On the Ipad I can practice my skills daily! So this Ipad can bring mine and my brothers grades up! If you do not agree please tell me!
A lot of my friends either have an IPod with a camera or an ipad! If you got me an Ipad 3 I would be able to have face time and me and my friends can help each other with homework! It is really important in middle school to do your homework right! It would help a lot!
I really do hope this essay persuaded you to buy me an Ipad 3! Remember all the good reasons I said!

Dear Diary,
Today I and Otto have arrived at Nebraska in our wagon. We will settle in as soon as Otto builds us a home. We can’t wait to meet the neighbors and plant our crops. Starting now it’s a new life. We will see what fate has for us!
The worst thing happened last night! A bear ate all of the food from the wagon. Now we do not have anything to eat! Otto try’s to calm me down but I was freaking out! I was so mad and sad at the same time. Then I remembered a box that my brother gave me and felt a little better because he said only to open the box if things got their worst. I did not know what to do but open the box.
The day after I still felt bad and sad about the bear taking all the food. I thought all was lost and we would starve. So I thought I could open the box Spencer my dear brother gave to me, it has given me hope the whole time and now I finally can open it! As I am slowly opening it I am thinking what it could possibly be, like a necklace, or a bracelet and maybe even a ring. So I removed the top and looked inside and there was nothing inside the box, at first I didn’t know what to think but then I thought that the box gave me hope and then I felt really good and the box was a life saver!
The next day I calmed down a little bit. Otto suggested that he would go find a river and go catch fish. Well he went looking for a river I decided to go and collect berries since our crops had not grown yet. That night Otto brought home some fish and I brought home some berries and it was a great meal!
In the end it all turned out fine, when are crops grow we will be better out then we are now! Even though that the box my brother gave me was empty me and Otto are just fine how everything turned out.

Dear Aunt Samantha,
We are missing you very much and baby brother John says your name over and over again. I and Sister Mia miss you. Baby John got really sick but I will be telling you more about that later. Enjoy=http://
During our voyage to the new land we were running out of food. We were so worried because John is very little and he needs food to stay well. We felt bad for the little guy so me, Mia and John were really hungry one morning and we snuck some food and ate it; it was just a little pot of beans that we shared. We got in trouble the next day because they noticed the food was gone. Our punishment was we did not get supper (except John of course). We were just so hungry and vulnerable. My mother died because she did not have enough food. It was a real hard time on us.
Now I am going to tell you about when Brother John got really sick! Since we did not have a lot of food John needed food BAD! He was super skinny and would not go to the bathroom!! He would cry all night long and was not a happy baby at the time. And just when he was about to die… We heard a man on the ship say “land ho!” Me and Mia burst out in tears and did a happy dance! When we got to land there was fruits and all kinds of food!
So it turned out to be all worth it for now! Write back soon!!!!

Ben Franklins Big Ideas!

I am going to tell you all about Ben Franklins big Ideas! He had all kinds of ideas that helped so many people and still do today! So that was a preview on what my essay will be about!
Did you know Ben Franklin invented the almanac? Well, he did. It had the holidays, the weather, when the moon would be a full moon, and when to plant flowers and vegetables. He also had jokes in it. For example, half wits talk much but say little. I thought that was another way to entertain people back then, so that’s how an almanac came in handy. Another interesting fact is he sold 10,000 of his almanacs a year! Now that’s a good selling book! That was one of his big ideas!
Another one of Ben Franklin’s ideas was telling everybody that lightning and electricity were the same. So he got a kite and a key and tied the key to his kite and the lightning hit the kite and he felt the shock with the key! He also had an amazing idea to put someone in a tower well a storm was going on, and he put a lightning rod at the top of the tower and he would see that lightning and electricity are the same! Every one put it at the top of their barn or house, and instead of the house burning down it would go straight o the ground. That was another one of Ben Franklin’s big ideas!
Ben Franklin’s idea to make United States free was my favorite idea of his. He was a big help during the revolutionary war! He went to France and asked if they would help the United States beat England. So France helped out in the war because they had a lot of money and Ben Franklin persuaded them so they would join America in the war. At the end U.S.A won the war thanks to Ben Franklin!
Ben Franklin did amazing things and helped America be the great country it is today. We would not have a great country without Ben Franklin=http://=http://!!!!
