Lucky Clover

By: Mary

Inside the lucky four leaf clover, the gem rain

Inside the gem rain, the crystal grass mountain

Inside the crystal grass mountain, the shiny green blanket covering the dirty ground

Inside the shiny green blanket covering the dirty ground, a rabbit foot flying in the wind

Inside the rabbit foot flying in the wind, joyful luck

Inside the joyful luck, the lucky four leaf clover.

Chicken

Feathery, cute

Clucking, pecking, sleeping

Bucking in the night

Chick

Flag

Red, blue

Flapping, flying, hanging

Wiping in the wing

American flag

Alive

I am the porcupine that quills in danger

I am the singing that lights the sky

I am the moon fallowing behind

I am the rainbow of peacock feathers

I am the drops of geyser water

I am the tears of a smile thats lonely

I am the doe that protects her child

I am the cloud puffing in the wind

I am the daisy that smiles through all snow& ice

I am brave but I am shy

I stand for peace on earth

I stand for protection of all

I stand for my beliefs

You see I am creative, I am joyful, I am me

And I am Alive

If I were in charge of the world

If I were in charge of the world I would cancel

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of school

And of course hunger and bad water

If I were in charge of the world

You wouldn’t have laundry that you have to do

No animals would be endangered, tigers could be pets

There would no such thing of siblings

And of course world peace would happen

If I were in charge of the world

No people could be mean no canceled soccer

No snow would touch the ground

And of course no chores or work to do

IF I were in charge of the world

I’d make a day called kid’s day

I’d replace Friday and call it me

And of course a person who’s sometime nuts and a bit of a cluts

Could be in charge of the world

I have a pet fish

He sits on a dish

His name is Gish

I like cats

That have hats

Especially Pat

My New Year’s Resolution

By: MH

My New Year’s Resolution in school is to talk less than I did in 2011. Some strategies are to ignore people who are bothering me when I’m working.

My New Year’s at home is to be more aggressive in soccer. Some strategies are: to pretend that the ball something that belongs to me and if I get in the goal I get it back.

Those are my new year’s resolutions for 2012.

Community Comparison: Haddonfield and Burneside

By:   Mary

Today I will be sharing my information about my home town Haddonfield, New Jersey and Burneside, Cambria. I got this information by Skyping with Mr. Humble’s Year 5 class on November 4, 2011.

There are lots of similarities with Haddonfield and Burneside. Here are some of the similarities. Students in both Haddonfield and Burneside like to go on field trips and play soccer. That is all the similarities I found.

I found lots of differences with Haddonfield and Burneside. Here are a few of the differences. One of my differences is that they have a different time zone then we have. The kids in Burneside live in a rural community and the kids in Haddonfield live in a suburb. In Burneside, they have mountains and lakes. In Haddonfield we live on a plain.

I would share even more information but that’s all the information I know about Haddonfield and Burneside, England. It was really fun doing this essay I hope enjoyed it!
