The book I read was called “The Gift”, by James Patterson, and the main part of the book is mainly about overcoming obstacles. It is about the witch and wizard, Wisty and Whit running from the N.O. and their forces and trying to get the best of the One when he captures them. This book is definitely about overcoming obstacles because they always have to overcome the New Order and their evil schemes. Wisty and Whit are running from the N.O and at the same time, trying to overthrow them. If you ask me, that is a pretty hard job, especially for a bunch of teenagers. In the middle of the book during an attempt to overthrow the N.O, they get captured and they have to resist their deceptive tricks. The Gift is a great book about sacrifice, and overcoming troubles and obstacles.

Athletes-Personality or Ability?

I think we should look at them as role models and judge them for their ability, even though that they have good ability to be there already. They should be good role models because they are very popular and should care how others see them and direct them on a path that will help them in the future. Ability can urge others to try and do their best in different activities and sports.

In competitions where both teams are tied and they have a tiebreaker, say in an academic competition and you are chosen, there can be a whole lot of pressure. You have people relying on you and if you fail you don’t know what their reaction will be. You also really want to succeed but you don’t know if you have the caliber to reach your goal. Extreme nerves and attempts to calm yourself are common. The main thing to do is to try and relax and do your best.

Edward Longshanks the First ruled from 1272 to 1307. He came to rule after Alexander the third and his granddaughter Margaret, Maid of Norway died four years later. He appointed a man named John Balliol to rule to extend Scotland’s rule. Later during a war he rebelled but was defeated by Edward and surrendered.
The people of Scotland hated and tried to rebel often against Edward because of his harsh punishments and evil ways of rule. One day he was very angry and made a cage and not only locked the captured Countess of Buchan inside, but Robert the Bruce’s daughter and his twelve-year old daughter.
Robert the Bruce’s daughter is held as ransom against him. He was born at Westminster in June 1239. He married Eleanor of Castile.
Contributions-Best ruler and one of the successful monarchs of England. Accomplishments in war and in law earned him the name-“English Justinian” He was a dangerous and clever man and continued to fight for more land. He never chose sides in the baron war, but when his father was captured his allegiance was given to Henry.

Prejudice-Scholarship Jacket

Sometimes prejudice can be found in the most common places, like schools, malls, or anywhere. Sometimes people can judge you in the hallways just by your clothes, your laugh, or the way you wear your hair. They don’t really know you, they just take it out on you. People can think you are weird because of the people you like to hang out with, but it is just your choice, and if they are loyal and stick with you, they are worth it. You need to remember that there is more to than meets the eye. Don’t change to fit in with the crowd, because the crowd can probably make everything even worse. I know prejudice can feel bad because it is rotten judgment, and not fair, but if you try and stay positive, everything will most likely work out.

My Goals

My Goals-Rachel Stiles
My academic goal was to get better a detailed grammar, like what is in DGP. It is not my best, and I would like to fix that. I think that it would help to go to help sessions and to focus more on the subject. Picking up tips in class would also benefit me on the way to achieving this goal. I think a logical time to achieve this goal would be during and near the end of the school year, because I have to do grammar during school, and I will need to know how to keep my grade up. My spiritual goal was to try and become less stingy and let God take control and not myself. Going to church more and reading my Bible for inspiration would really help, and so would asking Him myself through prayer. Honestly, I think a good time would be the start of next school year, because it is a somewhat fresh start and I would be older and expected to do that. My social goal is to be more optimistic around others. It would help to try and look at things in a different perspective, and try to focus on the positive in bad situations. I think the end of the school year would be nice, because over time achieving this goal, people will look at me in a better way.

The Girl Who Spelled Freedom- How Prissy Thrash Changed
Prissy Thrash was a character that changed over time and was influenced by the Cambodian family. She was nervous to take on a whole family of seven because she felt she already had enough on her hands, but since she knew their horrific background, she took them in. She started impatient because she couldn’t communicate with them, and they did things they would do in Cambodia, like stock up on food just in case they would not have any, and they did not use the bathroom, after all, they did not know how to-they had never seen them before. Over time, when the Yang family and the Thrash family could communicate and they learned to use the bathrooms and other conveniences, things got easier and Prissy softened up to the family, and the Yangs did the same-Prissy became the center of their lives. Because of the Cambodians, Prissy became a more patient, and kind person.

Chapter 1-How this weird story with twists, turns and craziness started
A group of scientists gathered together at a top secret lab at an island only known to top notch FBI agents to see if they could create the ultimate military contraption-a radioactive satellite that sent out a shockwave that would change the minds of terrorists to peace instead of war. After years of planning, it was finally ready to be activated. The scientist who pushed that button to send out the shockwave had no idea that the button he just carelessly pushed almost created Armageddon.
Chapter 2-The complete failure of knowledgeable scientists
One of the scientists had a virus and with the futuristic scientific material they were using, it was possible for the machine to get a virus. That virus changed the programming in the contraption to not change terrorists minds to peace, but changes every persons mind on Earth to war. The scientist who pushed that button had no idea what he just did. The group who invented it felt cocky and quite full of themselves because they thought they had just caused world peace-but quite the opposite. That moment a huge and unbelievable thing happened-all of the sudden everybody had the weird and unexplainable feeling of war in their minds- even the most peaceful people felt war-hungry. Of course there was the one outsider left who was the only one who could save the world. And that person was a 2-year-old kid who can’t talk.
Chapter 3-War Hungry and Rabid maniacs invading Earth
So every person was hungry for war, and that meant everybody was in action-getting weapons, and no one trusted anybody but himself or herself, even though they should have betrayed their tampered conscience. The 2-year-old kid had no mind of his own, or at least he couldn’t think for himself. But someone else could.
Chapter 4-Earth saved by a toddler
The person who actually helped the baby kidnapped him and took him on a jet to the ocean, planning to drown him, but when he dropped him, something strange happened-he was falling out of the skies at an unbelievable speed and he landed on the soft sand, not breaking a bone or getting a scratch-and he toddled over to the button and somehow disabled the satellite and saved the world. That is how a baby saved the world.
Chapter 5-The Scientist’s Mistake-yet again
The scientist was a little dull minded, even being high in quality in the knowledge of the sciences and he never thought to destroy the dangerous weapon. That meant of course, someone had to come along and not knowing this symbolic artifact of war and danger and push the button again.
Chapter 6-The Impossible way of Saving the World but being forced to do it anyway
This time there was a group of people, 6 in all were not possessed by the impulse of war-and there was also a different way of stopping it. There was a riddle found in an ancient Egyptian pharaoh’s tomb deciphered from it hieroglyphics that no one could understand and it finally made sense. It went a little like this-Contraption of Secrets, the danger and mystery within-the wrath of the mechanism can cause chaos to win, but a group of people, 6 in all, can save the world from Satan’s call.(that is what they called the event in that time)What they must do is exactly this-go down into the deep abyss and find the key to tranquility.
Chapter 7-The Complete Failure at trying to get the key with no trouble
So the group thought, “What the heck…” How can this little dumb prophecy from this ancient old guys’ tomb possibly relate to us? At first of course they thought the mission was idiotic. Who wouldn’t-that riddle sounds like it means as much as cow plops. But one of the 6 convinced them to try-it was the only thing that fit and the only way they knew to stop the machine. So they went to all the creepy deep abysses they knew until they ran out of places to go. Then they decided to take a break-they didn’t know they took the break in the exact abyss where the key of tranquility is-and its protector.
Chapter 8-The group meets the Terrifying and Mommy Loving Snake
They were chilling out in the deep abyss-(they did not know it was a deep abyss-they thought it was a wide and deep crevice in the ground but they were wrong.)
and they hear a strange rumbling noise in a small cave near the end of the abyss.
They start to draw back, but it is too late-the serpent had awakened.
Chapter 9-The Key of Tranquility
They stared in fear at the monstrous creature in front of them .It hissed a series of weird what seemed like incantations and bared its fangs which dripped with venom. They all ran in different directions. This snake was scary but tragically dull-minded and got confused and overwhelmed, slithering home to his mommy. Every one in the group was taken aback-they expected a huge fight and a complete defeat on the snakes’ side, but they just went with it. The group went into the cave in which the serpent had emerged and then took a look around for anything peculiar to the eye. One of them came out of a smaller cave in the cave and told the others to come and take a look. They went into the cave and saw what he wanted them to see. On a stone pedestal worn with age and illegible hieroglyphics was a gold key with a glowing blue aura.Of course this had to be the key of tranquility, they thought-but no, it was the decoy that if it was touched would set off 300 different booby traps at one time.
Chapter 10-A Million Ways of Dying in 60 Seconds
The group picked up the key and a huge ball of iron comes rolling in, arrows start flying and fire gets spit out of the wall in all different directions.Of course they thought they world would go to peace but lucky them- a million ways of dying in 60 seconds.

Library of the Future

I would design a library into a sort of hangout that feels comfortable but is also a really good place for reading and concentrating. I would like a library to be a really great spot for doing homework, with a section for each class with non-fiction books in it and in each “class section” a place to sit where you can do work. If you were just there to find a book I would like a section for each genre. I would also really like having people walking around the library to give good book suggestions if someone wanted one. That would be really cool, because I often have a hard time finding books that I like. Maybe that could be half of it and the other could be all technology. You could have computers where you entered a genre and it would tell you the best rated and most popular of that genre. That would be cool.
