In the book The Hunger Games, one of the many themes is alliance. The theme alliance is used many times in the book, such as, when Katnis and Peeta teamed up to win the Hunger Games. Also, Katniss and Rue teamed up as well. These alliances helped both people survive as much as they could.

Girl in a cage Research

England, Scotland, and Wales are a series of islands of the west coast of Europe. They make up the U.K. Scotland is made up of the Highlands, the Central Lowlands, and the Southern Uplands. It is usually very overcast, meaning it is very rainy, misty, and cloudy. England is a very small island and is covered in wetlands. The terrain is very swampy and low-lying allowing birds and plants to have a home there. Finally, Wales is rugged and almost completely surrounded by water. It is very cool and wet all year. These three islands make up one country, but are different in some ways.

Goals

Article posted January 30, 2012 at 07:49 PM GMT • comment • Reads 196

One of my goals academically, is to complete The Series of Unfortunate Events. Instead of watching TV, I will just go to my room and read. This will be completed by the end of the semester. My goal spiritually, is just to pray more often. Whenever I am alone, I will pray to God. This will be completed before my church retreat. Finally, my social goal is to become friends with kids I don’t know. I will simply start a conversation with someone. This will be completed by the end of the semester.

Pro Athletes

I think that we should expect professional athletes to be good role models and not just judge them by their athletic ability. Now, in professional sports, an athlete should have great athletic abilities, but that is not how we should judge them. Even if one player on a professional team is not the best at that sport, they can be encouraging and inspiring to the other athletes and that can change a team instantly.

Prejudice Today

Article posted January 13, 2012 at 03:10 PM GMT • comment • Reads 234

I think that one setting for prejudice to take place is our government. Even though President Obama is our nation’s President, people still don't like because of his skin and his decisions. In this upcoming election, some citizens don't like some candidates because of their age. As you can see, our nation is sometimes very prejudice to our government.

chapter 1 continued

Article posted October 21, 2011 at 02:58 PM GMT • comment (2) • Reads 936

Once there was a boy, and he loved football. He loved to play football, he loved to watch football, and he loved to talk about football. He even had his own team on fantasy football. His name was Tim. Tim was a pretty cool guy. He had many friends. Did very well in school. And was a great athlete.

There was only one problem though… he was small. He was also very skinny. At school, people would make fun of him, tease him and push him around. Sometimes, even his friends would judge him. Then Tim would look like he was laughing with them, but it really hurt him inside.

Every day, he would tell his dad he wanted to be bigger, stronger, faster and his dad always told him one way to do that. He would have to work at it all the time. Since his dad was as skinny as a stick in his childhood years, he knew how much he had to work. He would also have to eat, eat, eat, eat… and eat some more. And he would do just that.

design a library

EN-US">If I could design a library of the future, I would have a very efficient working and digital library. By that, I mean pop-up holograms for any book in the world. There would be audio previews and movie previews for each and every book. Then, once you had the book that you wanted to read in mind, a hologram book would appear in your hands. A hologram person could either read you the book, you could read it yourself, or that hologram could even show you the movie. My library would be a definite adventure.
