Linn Yang
Linn Yang is a young girl who started living in America after she lived in a country in Asia called Cambodia. Soldiers tortured her and her family. They go to America to live with Prissy, Laura, and George Thrash. When her family gets there, they are really scared. They do not know what to do or where to go. They do not know how to speak English. They start to store food in a bag and hide it in the laundry room. Then, suddenly they start to learn English. Linn starts to speak English first in the family. Then the kids start to go to school. She decides to enter a spelling bee and she wins. I think Linn changed because at first she was really scared, but then she started to gain trust in Prissy and her family.
