Oh God, I so do not want to be here. Camp Rotoma is going to be a long week from March 7-11. I don’t want to learn how to survive, I already know how to. When we arrived at the site all Fred, Brennan, Kyle and I saw were cars, a marquee and a milk tanker filled with water.
I got all of my gear out of the truck, put it by the tent I was sleeping in and sat down. We had to put up our tent ourselves. After a while my Dad came along and helped us out. I said, “thank you” and we were finally finished. “WOW!”, I said. We all hopped in and set our stuff up. Then we laid back and relaxed.
On Tuesday it was the first day of activities. First we had team building and bivouacs. Off we headed to the dense forest. We had to work together and it was the first time I had done this. After 45 minutes we had to drop our stuff and walk away. Miss Hull had two buckets of water. One was tipped over our bivouac and the other over group nines’ bivouac. Josh and Abby said they would get in the bivouacs. They got soaked hard out. Ha ha! Good thing I wasn’t in there.
On Wednesday night we had the Burma trail. We had to go through the forest holding on to a rope. It was funny as. Lots of people were screaming and crying just because of a chainsaw that wasn’t going to attack. I thought that was cruel.
On Friday I have to admit that I really enjoyed camp. I didn’t want to leave, but I had to. I couldn’t wait to see my family (and my computer).
