My Camp Recount

“Hayden, Hayden”!!,Dad said. “Wake up, time to get dressed“. It was the 7th of March and Puarenga Learning Centre was going to Rotoma Camp. We were learning about the bush and team work.
My first activity was kayaking. Brad and I were in a kayak together. We played a few games on the shore and learnt how to raft up. “Brrr”, the water was as cold as ice. I stood up and Brad pushed me in!! I was shivering. Stacey’s Dad tipped Mrs Bocock and Tammy out, it was funny.
In our free time Matua Del took us fishing. I did a cast and waited for a nibble. I got a squirmy fish, but it got away and I was disappointed. It was my first time casting. The rod was a sea rod.
My Dad told a story about a wild pig. When I was a little boy we went to hunt for it, but we didn’t get it. Uncle John found a huge, scary spider under his bed in my Dad’s tent. It was massive!!
Wednesday night already and it was time for the burma trail. I was nervous! Matua Del told us that there was a loopy guy on the loose. Brad and I were half way through the trail and we kept falling over! We were as muddy as pigs. In the past the Army used burma trails to hide from their enemies in Burma.
I enjoyed Lake Rotoma Camp. I can’t wait until next year’s camp at the mighty Thornton Beach.

Hi my name is Hayden Everiss and I am eleven years and I play rugby for Marist St Michaels in Rotorua. My favourite things to do in my spare time is kicking down at th post with my freinds like Taine,Ryan and Brad.What other things do I do in my spare time play the guitar,play station 2, watch tv and watch dvds. I play wing and halfback on saturday Brad play's frist five and Ryan play's lock.Ok that is what I have to say .
