On the 7th to the 11th of March all of Puarenga went to Lake Rotoma Camp so we could learn to survive in the bush, work as a team and to study the native plants and animals.
We had finally arrived and I was wondering where all of the activities were going to be held. After Mrs Bocock had finished talking to us all of the boys went to set up our tents. Kyle and I had no trouble setting up our tent. After all the tents were set up everyone went for a swim. It was the coldest swim I have ever had!
On Tuesday my first activity was bivouacs. Bivouacs was my favourite activity because I was looking for sticks. I climbed onto a big log and slipped. Luckily there were vines everywhere. The vines caught me just before I hit the ground!
On Thursday at 10pm all of Puarenga did the Burma trail. It was wicked! As my group walked through the bush one of the parents had a chainsaw and he started it up when our group came past. It was the best night at camp!
On Friday we had the best lunch at camp. After lunch we did the haka to thank the parents and the teachers.
I was so tired when I got home. I cant wait to Thornton Beach next year.

About the Blogger
I am 11 years and I love to play hockey. I am in the A hockey team, my team and I play every Friday. My favourite things to do when I'm bored is to play with lego, playstation or Club penguin.
