"Hi P.4". Well done to those of you who completed your character studies last week. I am really enjoying reading them. There are plenty of entertaining stories. It is also great to read about the things your parents are proud of and their amazing achievements. You have done a superb job with your research. We will either display them in our class or make a very cool book.
Lots of you are on track for the 'end of term treat' so keep up the great work.
Your jobs for this week are:
1. Reading every night. 15/20mins.
2. Maths- choose one set of tables facts to learn. Buddy testing on Friday.
3.Speeches: You should have a list of topic ideas and a rubric to use as a guide. You have also listened to four different speeches in assembly. This week you need to write a draft of your speech. I will give you some time in class. Remember you need a catchy introduction. Divide your ideas into paragraphs and add a conclusion to round off your speech. This should state your main idea/point of view. We will move onto cue cards next week. For those of you who are ahead, feel free to move onto cue cards. These should list your main points, not your entire speech.
Have fun and try and choose a topic you really believe in.
