"Wear this dress," Max's little sister said. They were playing mother and daughter and Max always had to be the daughter (Max thinks it's because the mother is always in charge). She was holding out a pink and purple dress with barbie written on it and he knew what mum would say if he didn't, so he went to his room to get changed into the dress. A few moments later he was out of his room with his normal clothes on and saying to his little sister,
"I can't fit it."
She put it back in her closet and took out a dress that was way too big for her but it fitted Max perfectly. It was a princess bridal dress! So he got changed in his room. When he came out, his little sister was waiting for him with a make-up box in front of her.
"Come here," his little sister ordered.
He sat down in front of her. "Close your eyes."
So he closed his eyes and she put eye shadow, lip stick and foundation on him. Then she handed him a princess back-pack. When he looked inside there was a princess lunch box, a princess cardigan and inside the lunch box was a princess yoghurt and a princess bag with a sandwich inside and a piece of fruit. When Max looked up at her, she passed him princess high heels too. Max wore all of it. Then mum came in the room and reminded him that there was school. Just then the bus came and parked right in front of their house. He had no time to take everything off and get changed. He sprinted to the front of the house and ran to get on the bus. Everyone laughed at him when he hopped on the bus and noone let him have a seat next to them, except for his best frind Louis.
"Why are you wearing that dress, that make-up, that bag and those high heels?" Louis asked. Everyone began to be quiet and listened closely. Max deccided to pass Louis a note which he decided to read out loud! 'I will tell you later when everyone is not around.'
Everyone started to laugh again.
When they got to school it got even worse...it was photo day! Max ran to the girls bathroom by mistake, then he noticed that there was a girl getting ready for the photos. She thought that he was a girl so Max thought quickly, pretending his name was Jess when she asked, "What's your name?"
"Jess" he answered quickly so he did not seem so suspicious.
"What is your name?" he replied.
"Julie." she answered. She walked off to her class. Max was so happy that he couldn't help smiling... until he remembered about the photos! So he looked around in the bag looking for some boys clothes. Then he opened up the cardigan and his favourite clothes came out.
He looked aound. Everyone was taking their photo. He quickly got dressed and took the make-up off his face, then wearing bare feet he ran to take his photo. He was just in time! Then the class raffle was drawn. The person who won the raffle would win an awesome bag and lunch box with real food and cool shoes..."and the winner is ........

AndI lived happily ever after.

Alice and the warewolf

It was a beautiful day at Sunville. Alice was in the garden. Her mother was reading the newspaper.
"Can you please come here Alice?"asked Alice's mother.
"Yes,"answered Alice in a sweet voice. Alice was wearing a beautiful dress with flower patterns on it and a ribbon in her hair.
"Can you please go and get 10 apples for the big apple cake tonight?" asked her mum.
"Yes, but what about the big bad wolf?"
"Jerry and Josh are looking for the big bad wolf and will put it in Sunville Zoo," answered her mum.
"Okay," answered Alice and she was off looking for the 10 juiciest apples in the forest. She counted the juiciest apples on the tree; 1...2....3...4...5...
As soon as she came to the sixth juiciest apple in the tree she heard a loud howl behind her. She saw a huge scary warewolf waiting for her to react. Without thinking she threw an apple toward the warewolf. It struck him on the foot and she would have heard the crunch of the bones breaking in his foot, if she had stayed and listened but she was smart enough to run away as fast as she could before he recovered. Unfortunately, she ran in the opposite direction to the village. Before long she came to a huge tree house with a ladder leading into it. She climbed up it as fast as she could. The warewolf was close behind even limping with his broken foot. When Alice got up into the treehouse she felt safe enough to catch her breath while the warewolf tried to climb up the ladder. She glanced quickly out the window to see where she could run to next and noticed she was lost, seriously lost. Alice tried to look for the villige over the trees, then she looked low and it was at that moment that she realised she was not lost after all. She could see a glimpse of red from the juiciest apples in the entire forest! She knew it wouldn't take long for her to find the tree and return to the village if the wareaolf had not managed to devour her before then.
A few minutes later the warewolf gave up and took a few steps away from the tree house, hoping she would come down. The warewolf looked back to make sure Alice did not climb down and slunk off to hide nearby. Alice saw the warewolf hobbling away, lokking defeated. A few seconds later, the wolf was out of sight. Alice waited afew moments more then slowly climed down but the wolf didn't appear. As she touched the ground, she saw two shadows coming towards her! Quickly she climed the ladder again.
"Hey look the ladders wriggling, someones been up here or the wolf came," said a familiar voice. Two young men stood at the base of tree and looked up at the tree house. Alice sighed in relief and exclaimed, "Oh! Thank goodness it's you!"
It was Jerry and Josh. Before they thought trees had began talking, she added, "It's me! Alice. I'm up here. I have just been chased by the warewolf." Alice climbed down then told them the whole story. "The warewolf went that way," Alice pointed toward a tree near some tangled bushes.
"Thanks a lot," the boys both said at exactly the same time.
"Jinx," said Josh before Jerry could say it.
"Dang," replied Jerry.
Alice was pleased they were so on-task, focused on the warewolf.
"Umm, the wolf," she reminded them.
"Oh, right," they said, again at exactly the same time.
"Jinx," yelled Jerry before Josh could react.
Josh was about complain when he saw Alice glaring at him.
"Let's just get the wolf," he said.
They started walking the way she had indicated.
"Wait, can I help?" Alice asked.
"Well..." Josh said, "we might need you. No! We will need you!" he corrected himself.
"You can pick the rest of the apples you wanted to make the champion warewolf hunters a delicious apple pie!"
Alice rolled her eyes but made her way back to the tree while the boys searched for traces of the warewolf. She started picking the apples. 10 seconds later (well not exacly - it was longer than that because the warewolf was limping most of the way), the warewolf came hobbling up to Alice for his afternoon tea. Alice saw the warewolf and ran back to the tree house where Josh and Jerry were. She gave them the basket of apples and warned them the warewolf was on its way. Not too long after she climed up into the tree house, they saw the wolf limping to the base of the tree again. They had all armed themselves with apples from the basket and they chucked them at the warewolf. Soon the warewolf lay on the ground counting start - knocked out. Jerry grabbed his jacket and threw it on the ground by the warewolf. They dragged him onto the jacket so they could use it as a sled and drag the warewolf back to the village.
It wasn't easy but they got him back and the village people helped put it in the zoo in the village. Before they put it in the cage at the zoo, the vets treated the warewolf's broken foot. In what seemed like no time later his foot was fixed and the people were able to see what a fearsome creature he was.
For her bravery, Alice received the juiciest apple tree in the forest. It was planted in her back yard with a special plaque saying...'this tree is a gift to the bravest littlest girl in the world, who picked the juiciest apples to be made into the biggest apple pie by her mother, the greatest ever cook.'

I had fun at the poetry cafe... Eating swirly chocolate rolls, baked short bread cookies, creamy chocolate cake, a feast of poems, standing at the mic, reading, sharing poems, scared but excited.

Thanks to my great teacher Helen!!!

On monday the 6th of June, my friends Ashleigh and Shikyra came to my house and played with my family's puppy, named Mal-tea. She's very cute! Her mum is a white chiwawa and her father is a white toy poodle and the puppy is black! I think it's because the father's mother or father is black and Ashleigh, Shikyra and I had a very good time.

Running around while cats chase us
At night we sleep tight
But sometimes cats still chase us at night
Burrow through the field
Imagining eating a nice juicy carrot under a
leaf umbralla
Turning, digging till they find each other
Safe at last
