taking samples
During last term room 4s focus was to complete an investigation that would show how to help our stream and lake become healthier.
I worked along with Claudia Thomas to investigate 4 jars of water. Each jar had a different type of water in it. In one jar was rain water in the other was tap water the 3rd jar had stream water in it and the forth jar had a sample of water which I call the stream sample 2.
Our aim was to see what sample grew the most algae. I thought that the stream sample 2 would because it looked the dirtiest and unhealthiest. Leading up to the day that we had to share the investigation to the class I recorded every 3 days how the samples changed.
Overall I found that the rain water turned from clear to green the stream water from clear to green and the tap water stayed the same, but the stream sample 2 grew a little algae and the water turned browner.
I found this investigation interesting because I learned a lot and had a lot of fun!
