This course was hard for me because almost everything was a repeat from the last two years. It was more of a challenge because there was more outcomes expected this year and more length as well. I was able to get it done, but I think I would have done better if there were new things instead of the ones I already did. This discouraged me sometimes because I felt like I knew what I had to do but just did not get into it as much this time around. I also felt like we were rushed threw some of the parts in this class maybe it is because I went four days a week before and only two days this semester. I would have liked to have had more in class time to work on things. I do more work when I am not at home and have so many distractions around me. All in all I was still able to get a decent mark this year and happy that I will be graduating this year. I will be done high school finally wooooo hoooooo! My next goal in life is to go to RRC and get into health and safety.

Essay planning is one of the most important things when writing an essay. Making a planning sheet with all you paragraphs can help you stay on track and figure out which order they should go in for your final copy. I had 7 paragraphs for my essay. I wrote them all out and moved them around until they flowed nicely together. I would say without a plan when writing an essay it is not going to turn out as good as if you were to use a planning sheet or graphic organizer.

<                      Well, for me most of this was a repeat from last year’s course. I will admit that when you look over something more than once it sticks in your head better. I would say that looking at all this again has helped me hone my skills, seeing what is legit and what is fake when it comes to online sources. The one thing I don’t really like about the owl website is that I found it hard to find what I was looking for. There was almost too much extra info and nonsense I like to read things and get right to the point. I was still able to find what I needed it just took longer than I thought.

"Love Is Like A Rose." This is not from a song or a poem, it is just

something I thought of. The stem is strong and sturdy just like the base of

a good friendship should be. The thorns are sharp and hurtful just like when

something sad happens that hurts the heart. The petals; soft and beautiful

like the special times that two people share together.

Since we get to write about what we want, I am going to write about blogs and how much I hate doing them. I find these blogs to be kind of hard sometimes. The part that makes it difficult for me is we have to write about something that we just worked on. I get bored of writing about the same thing I just spent a week working on. I would rather write about something new or even pick my own topics. I find this more of a boring task. But when something is worth 20% of your final grade you have no choice to do them and put some effort into it. I think more people would like blogs if you could write about what you wanted to rant about, the comments would also be a lot more fun.

Music has a lot of force; it can pick someone up when they are feeling down. Just listening to a great song always cheers me up. When I drive out to the lake in the summer I always blast some good country tunes on the way out to get me in the mood. It is amazing how listening to a song can change a person’s mood. The communication of a song is also a huge part of music. Some bands play for the money and some play to get the message they want to get out. J.P. Taylor sings songs about the world and how big of a mess it is now and we need to start to clean it up. There are lots of bands that play this kind of music, you just do not get to hear them much because people do not like to dance or to party to this kind of music. In our society they are not in the top ten hit lists but they have a strong message to get out there. It is too bad because they are trying to help the world out, but that does not make money if you are not on the top. The songs on the top ten now a days are usually about getting drunk and getting laid which is sad to say because all that is doing is making people want to go out and drink and when you go out and party and drink you usually go and do something you should not do.

My plan to ensure that I will do well on this major assignment is to apply the skills that I have learned from all of our minor assignments. I am going to do my best at trying to use all of these skills to the fullest, and I will also have a good friend of mine look it over with me to make sure that I have not made any spelling mistakes and to correct any grammar issues. I will also use the owl website to make sure I do my citations correctly. I feel confident in using my new skills and plan on passing all of the major assignments.

Well this assignment was hard for me. I am not one to be put on the spot butI was still able to get it done. The hard part was making up my presentation in less than an hour for preparation. My mark shows how bad I am at being put on the spot. The poster that I made for this task was a good one, the guy who I presented it to thought it was really good and it made him laugh. The presentation was only a minute long because I could not really come up with too much more to say on this poster. Next time I am hoping for some more time to make a proper presentation. I am sure I will do better at it if I have the time I need to prepare myself. I know I’m not good with speaking in front of a lot of people but I hope to get passed that this year.

I use to be a machine operator making peoples yards look good with a bobcat and hand tools. This sometimes took some creative thinking on how you are going to make this yard flow from the curb to the back fence; it all has to look nice. In some yards that I have done you need to think on the spot and make the decision on how you are going to make it look as good as you can. Some people are really picky when it comes to how their yard looks. One customer we had, spent over a hundred thousand dollars just on his yard! I worked on the top soil for his yard for two days and he made me go over it until it was as flat as a pool table. The other workers and I took our time and got the job done with a very happy customer in the end. The purpose of teaching this in school is to let you know there is more than one way of doing things. Sometimes you have to think outside of the box to get a job or task done

In this assignment I chose to write about the article, “Canada Breeds Cows That Burp Less”. For the two variables that I had to change I chose to change the context and the purpose. I twisted the article by changing the ending  so the methane gas that was produced by the cows is now coming from the humans.
