Well first I want to thank to GOD for giving me an opportunity of finishing this credit and graduating. I so much enjoyed this class; I loved every single subject we learned, lyrics to connection ideas, and of course essay and presentation. I feel these whole major assignments were not only assignments; it also shows you how to connect things, and to compere by thinking critically. I gained this 40S a lot of things, I feel that I improved my essay writing and formatting, because in grade 11 and 10 I wasn’t good at editing or revising, even though I am still not perfect for the editing part, however i improved a lot. I had always like finding ideas and connection to the world and myself. This course was mostly presented this way and gave me opportunity to practice those things further. I had so much fun while I was learned this class, the teacher is amazing, the students were nice, the way it design and the teacher's taught was also incredible. I couldn’t ask anything better than this, and I am so glad the fact I am graduating. I wish everybody very good future, and very relaxing summer including Jody..

I have always thought internet is very trust worth resource however now I have learned there is also some false information since everybody can add anything. We learned that how to be aware of those false information by looking at the date and if the web looks actually trust worthy because if the website doesn’t have any date or updates, and they didn’t add it in 3 years anything, you will know this isn’t the best current web you can find valuable information. Comparing lots of website and another resource like books can also help. After I watched the video I gain knowledge, I never knew very big source like Wikipedia anybody can add it anything. I was so surprised to see many different language that wiki providing to the deferent world. I was amazed the fact non English speaker people like me can find their own language. English is very international language, however not all the people speak, so wiki gives an opportunity to those people.

When am writing an essay, I always use these strategy.
First I think about a topic, that I know little bit about, or new, but interests me. Next I make a plan.
Planning and brain storming is one of the keys for proper essay, I use graphic organizer for my ideas, after I do that i focus how to put them together, we all know proper essay should have introduction body, and conclusion. I also spend some time thinking what kind of essay I should write, if it’s narrative, persuasive or expositor. Finding the type of essay I am writing make my ideas more clear because my personal narrative essay doesn’t look same as expositor essay.
This is how I begin an essay when I am writing MY good copy. I start with an introduction, which has my main idea or the big picture of my topic and then move from general to specific and appropriately introduce and outline the topic.
The second following thing is the body which is mostly supporting my introduction or my bigger picture of the idea, we usually find this part details that supports the main topic.
Conclusion which is wrapping up all the things I said in the body and introduction by few sentences, so the reader can have a full idea of the argument or experience I mentioned. All the writing and organising is done now, but wait I didn’t do the revising which is the area I always find it the hardest. I usually don’t revise properly, however this particular essay I will try my very best to revise it properly. Once I finish my essay I will give my teacher or cuz to reread for me, and give me his opinion about what I did, by highlighting where I did wrong.
That was how I write my essay, its lots of work and I don’t enjoy doing it, but I have to 

My current goal is to get the diploma and to move forward to my future, however to get there I have some stuff that I have to work on, like how to edit. Every time I am loosing marks in that particular category, I clearly want to learn, so I will work on by redoing my major assignment, trying to see where I am making mistakes, coz when I am doing those punctuation mistakes I can’t see it, and it’s lack of ignorant. I am planning to become a Nurse which is all about math and science; however it’s very important to learn the proper writing, because I don’t want struggle formatting one paragraph in life.

Discussion is very important because you can increase knowledge from the others. We don’t have the same brain and what you see in some way the others might see in a different way, and that gives you different view in one topic. I personal have no issue with the group work, I like to get to know my classmates, and I feel in group work I am not only gaining knowledge, but feeling comfortable to talk to the others without feeling shy. Sometimes we see some people who are the same class in more than two semesters and don’t know their names, I think the reason this is happening is they barely had any work to do together ,or sit beside each other or chat. Group discussion has a lot benefit and the most important one is that it making us more comfortable to one and other.

Music present in many ways, I think its universal language, it has so many strengths, for example we use music in religious purpose, and we use it to connect our lives, which is very true since the music and emotions goes hand and hand. We can’t count the ideas we use in music, but I want talk about the one that interests me the most; which is music and culture. Every culture has their own music, which makes them unique and different I think that itself is a language. Music is one way in which cultures can not only identify themselves but also communicate with each other and find common ground. Think of a culture that's very different to your own; one that you have noticed for some reason or other, but don't know very much about. You will probably get an instant mental picture of the people of that culture and perhaps have some impression of their language, art and music, too. These sights and sounds can leave a deep impression on us. The sights and sounds of a particular culture may affect us without our fully understanding the meaning of their importance within that culture; now we see how music and culture goes hand and hand.

Behind very successful man there is a woman"Denesa".
I choose this quote because I believe it’s very true. Women are the ones whom can build a very broken relationship. We go to work men or women, and we Canadian have very stressful lives, however when your day outside is done, you are come in home to relax, if your husband/wife is very supportive, creative and always helps you with ideas, and gives you hope, that feels so great. When people are partners or husband and wife they help each other or they make each other very useless by putting down one and other, or simply don’t care what ever is going on there individual lives. It’s very important to have a support in your house, because that’s where you spend most of your times. This quote is pointing the power of woman, in these days both male and family work, and have dreams, however men are very listener to their wives, if they have a good relationship, they are strong, but they still need help, so women develop a long lasting relationship to everyone. They maintain and make sure that their family is happy. They help their husbands to maintain happiness in their family.

For this major assignment I am going to make sure that I use all the things we practised in the class. For example , text to text, text to myself, and text to the world. This assignment is about connections, so I am going to connect to the world and the two texts which we read in the class, the mother and son and on the side walk bleeding. I couldn’t find a perfectly fitting quote for my hand out, because the quote has to relate to my two assignments, so I went Google search it under the power and chooses then I got it.my quote is while we are free to choose our actions, we are not free to choose the consequences of our action, this quote perfectly connect with my two text. When I saw the connection between the assignment and the quote, I thought the third connection option which I wrote about text to the world, now after I see the connections, I am just going to focus how to put it to getter nicely, I will also think about my audience, which I think are going to be parents and their children, since my goal is to tell the parents to take a good care of their children by communicating with them, and given them advices of life, like the poem mother as son, mother did. I will also make sure my work is make sense and I will try to make it more interesting to my audiences to read, by using very easy to read sentences.

Well if the internet disappears we all going to be affected, negative or positive way. For me internet is huge part of my life. I communicate with my families which are thousands and thousands of miles away. I talk to them every single day on Skype. Therefore you can see if i lose the internet, I will lose this opportunity which is very cheap long distance communication, I can still call them, however it will affect me financially, and my phone bill will be unaffordable. The technology also made us easy to connect with global friendship; we can make a friend from another part of the world, thanks to BBM AND Facebook. We can also learn anew cultures and exchange ideas which I think is pretty helpful to know something about what is going on globally. The second thing I like about the internet is the entertainment, for example the music and movies websites etc. the internet itself has disadvantage, I think we are becoming very dependent on it, in a way which leads to us very lazy society. The article we read the other day which was the gist generation, the author was talking about how the internet affected us, I agree with him.
And I think we aren’t using our brains, like we used to be, and if we don’t practice using our brain it will shrink.overall for me internet has more advantage then disadvantage.

For this assignment I prepared this way, first I thought about which article or story we read in the class has interests me more. I chose the mother and son poem, which I thing we all related to it. After I had choosing my article, and understood the meaning behind it, I got my idea which was to be successful in life, you have to work hard, success is all about achieving self-control even in your hardest times, not given up on half way toward your goals. I have thought how I would present this idea in an interesting way. I know I am bad with drawing, so to make my audience very easy to understand what my visual is saying, I went image then I copied all the images I need piece by piece, after I have done that, I made my visual in order, the beginning of your way to success, the middle, which is the hardest part, and the end, which is when you actually achieve your success. To communicate whit my audience was pretty easy, because the visual I created was very easy to read, and I also added some words,to made more readable. I was very relaxed with the person I was presenting because she was my friend, so I am quite happy with my outcomes, however next time I will practice more to make more detail.

I chose the article which was about a woman gets kicked from the bus, because she has a noisy baby.
First I thought about what will be easier for me to change, and then I change the form, and made the article in an even letter, I made this chose because I knew how to organize in personal letter. I chose this particular article, because is something we see every day when we taking the bus. Personally I don’t have children, however I understand that the parents can’t shush the baby, especially if the baby is very young.my argument of the letter was how people are rude, but when it comes to their own children, they think they aren’t bothering anybody. I sent this letter to the US woman organistion, therefore my audiences changed as well. The original article was almost everybody, but my letter was only particular woman’s organisation.

Critical thinking and analysing apply for me when I am getting ready for an exam.

First I try to approach the exam with a confidence, to do so I read again and again my notes, to memorise it I close my eyes in a few minutes and image what I just read.so my brain can absorb everything.
Secondly I sleep the night before at least 8-9 hours. I know sometimes isn’t easy to sleep when your brain is all over, however I drink a warm milk, and eat a food to make myself full. After I do that I try to go to bed, if in 10 minutes I can’t sleep. I try to read a boring book, so I can sleep. The morning of the test I eat a good nutrition breakfast like a whole wheat bread and chocolate milk or an orange juice.in my way to the school I read a little note which I wrote all the important things I suppose to memorise.
Finally when I come to the school and I get my test, I close my eyes again and image the entire think I studied last night, if its math I memorise the formulas. The technique that always helps me is, when I am writing my exam or a test I only look the page I am on, and if I find it is a hard question, I try to fillip the next question or the easiest questions.

Well I changed my research topic many times because I didn’t know what will be more interesting to the people I am presenting to, so later I decided to research old Somali marriage tradition.
First of all this research helped me to know who I am because it based on old somalian culture which I didn’t know much about. somalian culture has many sorts, so I focused marriage category, and the reason why I choose this part was it interests me more than anything.the reason behind this interest was I am a woman and I want to know how my grandmother or old generations used to married, I didn’t get that much information over the internet, but I found books in millennium library, which helped me a lot even though the books were written in somalian language, so to translate in English which bit tough. As I know bit about the old somalian culture it helped me to compare how the culture changed over the years. I interviewed my grandmother as well, and I think she knows the most because this was her generation.

Relationship is a huge topic and I think everywhere we look we have relationship. I reflect relationships are uncountable, we can’t count the relationships in the world, but if I talk about some of those relationship are the way people/ countries act/interact together .the relationship between the people and their god, we can also say the relationship between people and their culture.
I choose my research Somalia culture and marriage, I think my topic is surrounded the team of relationship because in my research I talk about the relationship between husband and wife; daughter and father, so this team of relationship fits everywhere, I also talked about the relationship between me and my culture and after all I think it’s all coming in one group and that’s relationship.

I made a poster that shows how sexy ads can get your attention more and that’s the reason why companies do this sexy ads, because they know we human can give our attention if we see very attractive people.
My agenda was to show the reason behind this kind of ads, because we see it in everywhere, but I figured Sex appeal can increase the effectiveness of an ad or commercial because it attracts the customer's attention. It's human nature to be curious about sex. A pair of long legs on a billboard is more likely to catch and hold a guy's attention, even women’s has the same feeling when it comes those can of ads, they rather look a sexy guy than average man.
The language I have used was very understandable it was passed on my research. As my poster talking about sexy ads, my audience should be adults, so my language is the words that adult use, not for children.

I definitely believe that an Aboriginal and racial minorities have long been ignored by the mass media, except when it has been convenient to do otherwise.Whether in advertising, news casting, or TV and film, minorities are rendered virtually invisible through under-representation in programming, staffing and decision-making. Minorities have appeared to be unworthy of coverage unless caught up in situations of conflict or crisis. In a scathing indictment, the advertising trade magazine Marketing, but I think it’s going to disappear this racism very soon because the new generation is going to change this matters. for example in the US there was a time that black people were nothing and look at now how the time changed the people and chose black president…

I listen different language of music, but they make me feel the same because I relate lots of music to my life, some music reminds me when I was little and growing up. Others remind me of my friends and people that I miss and liked at that time. Some other music makes me happy and feel relaxing, making me feel that things will be ok. But sometimes I hate a particular song because it reminds me of the time I was sad, or someone who hurt me and every time I listen to it, it makes me cry. Music has the great power, music makes you think and make a good decision, it depends how you love music though, because people are different, some people music doesn’t have any affect in them. We also see how company chooses their music, when they are advertising their stuff. I think music is universal language, plus it doesn’t need to understand what they saying as long as you feel it.

When I first started my rough copy I had confidence, and I knew I will get good marks. I worked very hard the whole night to make sure my work make sense. Major assignment is a lot harder than manor because we will get assessed in many categories. When English is your second language it’s not easy for me, besides I have lots of sort whom I need improvement, I have too many run on sentence and I need to work harder to improve these particular category.

• There is a perception by many that young people don't vote - that they simply don’t care. Some young people claim that they're disillusioned with the process and the system in general. What can be done to improve voter turn-out among young voters? Explain fully.
I think it’s true most of young adults don’t vote because they simply don’t care. It’s true that some of our candidates are making fake promises while they are in candidate and say we are going to do all etc., but believe or not some are telling the true. It’s our responsibilities to think who is going to lead us, because if we simply avoid now, it’s very hard to get it back and vote later in life, I am not citizen in this country so I can’t vote, but I want to say if you don’t vote you really don’t have any rights to complain the government decisions and what they are going to do. I think if the competitors do what they promise before they win, and do some interesting change after they win for the young adults, there will be more youth who actually want to give their vote for those kind of people.

The work we have done so far is similar to my grade 10; however the expectations are much higher. The way Jody is teaching us is perfect. I like the fact we are going to have the major assignments different categories, because some may not be good at writing, but good at presenting.as an adult learner, it’s hard because we have another responsibilities in our lives, for me it’s hard to come the class in the morning because I finish my work late, and I am sure I am not the only one in this situation, I think as an adult learner if we come every day, and submit our assignments, we going to succeed.

First I was confused what kind of essay I would chose, and how I would write. Then I chose expository essay, which has introduction, three body parts, and conclusion.
Yes I find essay hard, especially because I never done before, and it has too many rules, which the other writing don’t have it, but when Jody explained to us, it became little easier. I use the graphic organiser, it made it clear to see the points, and the main idea, so you can write the topic which you already has. The organiser helped me to see, what my main idea is, and the small detailed. I didn’t hand in my essay, so I really can’t tell if my essay lift my expectation or not, but so far I wouldn’t change anything because I did my best.

The whole book was sad, and depressing, but for me what depresses me more was the rape scene.
We all know rape is forced, unwanted sexual intercourse, someone, who shows you power and tortures you which is not only physicality bad, but also emotional. When the guys raped April, they make her life miserable. they showed her how weak she was. In the real live when person get raped, they get scared of everybody around them, and don't trust anybody, that’s how April felt. The rape changed April's life. She want to have family, and children even though, She has man, she was scared in the future. That rape couldn't leave her memory, and didn't let her live same as before.

My research project was about the pets, I chose this topic fist, I like animals, second, when I did some research I figured what actually pets can do to our daily lives, which most of people don't know.for me,I didn't know that cat can make you cheerful, and makes you forget your problems, until I saw and experienced that It is actually true. My research wasn't hard to find,I visited a few websites to compare my topic, and I did interviewed my aunt, which has a cat. After I got that, I did my work on power point. I want to know if this book is her first book, she have ever written, and how much Achievement does the book got? I lso want to know that if this wasn't a true story, how does she come up with such an incredible story like this?
I just want thank to her, and all the people who were a part for this an amazing book, and let her know that we enjoyed and cried during reading the book.

When we talk about presention,it is always Challenging. I am kind of shy person, and it is hard for me to stand infront of the class and present. Jody was kind person and she gave us an opportunity to present individually.MY presention was about pets. it went well, altough I didn't present to the class, but still I worked hard to prepare my topic.I did a lot of research about my topic, I did everything in powerpoint and documents sources in usp. I add it videos wich makes little more intresting. I wish I could present to whole class and not being shy.but
I was so happy with my outcomes.

If I talk about my learning style, I am visual type of learner, and I figured out few weeks ago.
I like to see the teacher's body language and facial expressing to fully understand the content of a lesson.I prefer sitting at the front row of the classroom to avoid visual obstructions. I also like to take detailed notes to absorb the information.
I also learn by listening, and the other people read text loud.
I think it's very important to know what type of learner you are, and I do know now.

well adult learning week is an important week for all the adult learners in Canada. It's very important to every body who are adult and working on their way to become successful in life.
People leave schools in many reasons.for example, the school was boring when you were young, and you didn't like to study, but when you become adult and you worked a very tough job,you noticed this is not what you want in life. I think we are lucky to have a adult education places because a very few country has it. ALW is an encouragement to us and given us a power to think that we still have chance to reach our goals. we all need second chance no matter how old we are. we can always start over.

well, when I first started using this blog, I wasn't sure what to do, and how the blogs works, but now I find it Motivating to see and read what the other people are written.I also find it helpful to notice how the other people are writing their stuff.English as a second language is not an easy for me,So sometimes I don't understand what is the question that the teacher is asking, but when I looked and read it through the other people's writing,I kind of get some idea about what I need to do.
I like it, and I must say blogs are awsome :)..

fist of all pictures talk on their self. when I did my visual representation I looked at the picture I chose,I can see it everything going around that picture with out writtng any words. pictures are easy to understand, they don't need language or reading. It was a satisfaction to create a picture that talking about the whole story of rosa park, and it takes less time to read a picure instated reading the whole story. visual is more fun for me then writting in.

I think it was very important to understand or Relate to the character. I understand the character very well because I shaved my hair before and I had a similar experience although I wear turban I still felt freak.
I took pictures with out my turban and everybody I showed was laughed at me. everytime I looked at my self, I felt I was ugly. I never hated my self as much as i did that time.
woman who have an ugly hair are miserable, and you only understand when you lost it,not when you have.

first I chose an old story that happened few hundred years ago,it was written a big Vocabulary, because of my audiences are children and teens,I changed my context and form, so the little children can undrestand.I made this choose because when i was young my grandmother used to read me.I also change the purpose a little bit, i made it funnier, to make the kids happy when they are going to bed.

Well, when I first came in this school, I thought wow the class is full, I took my grade 10 and 11 in McLeod, and we didn’t have this many classmates. Overall my first impression was great. This building is way smaller than the McLeod building, however I have the same teacher that I had in McLeod which is Jody. The teacher is very nice, she makes me relax, and the environment she creates is so pleasant. As an adult we have our own responsibility. To be successful in this class, I will make sure that the school is one of my first priorities. As a second language English is very challenging, but my goal is to learn and I have a wonderful teacher, so I can’t complain. To make sure I get this credit, I will submit all my work, I don’t have to do perfect, but I will do the best I can. Because if I leave my assignment last minute, it’s hard to catch-up
The course outline and what we have done so far is very interesting, I like the fact that we are doing a lot of practice before our major assignment. I feel that way I can do better in the major assignment. My goals are to get the credit, but also to gain knowledge in this class, and hopefully I will.
