PC To RSG
I can relate to Ji-Li Jiang in many ways. The one I liked the best was when she is going into Junior High. I was very excited to finally be moving on to Middle School. The school was bigger and we finally got to change classes! Ji-Li was excited too but for a different reason. She wanted to get away from all the people that were holding her back from her full learning potential. Still, we were both excited for the new school year. When I got to Middle School, I found out it wasn’t that great. Also I didn’t like switching classes because I was so used to just staying in one class for the whole day. Now we had to change classes for every subject. It was very hard to get used to. The rules were also a lot stricter than it was in elementary school. I was in 6th grade the smallest grade in the school, so all the older kids intimidated me. There was a whole different scenario for Ji-Li. She figured out she couldn’t go to Middle School of her choice, but when she finally got to the alternate Middle School she was very disappointed because most of the stupid people were back in her class. Ji-Li and I had different Middle School experiences, but we can still relate to each other.
Another connection to Ji-Li that I have is how we think about or family. Ji-Li loves her family and she said she would do anything to protect them. I love my family too and I have a younger sister and sometimes I feel really protective of her. Family is very important to me, without my family I don’t know what I would do. Ji-Li felt the same way during and after the cultural revolution.

I read the book Perfect by: Sara Shepard. This book was about 4 girls Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily. Their best friend Ali disappeared mysteriously when they were in 7th grade. They forgot about her until when they were in 10th grade the girls got messages from "A."
A short while after the messages, the police found Alis dead body buried in her old backyard. All the girls thought that "A" was Ali and they were happy that their old friend was back. But they were wrong. The reason they thought that "A" was Ali was that "A" new everything about the girls lives, some secrets that they only told Ali.
Every day the girls felt like they were being watched. Every time the girls did something bad, "A" sent them a text message telling them it was wrong. Even when they were in their house, "A" always sent them a message. All of them teamed up to figure out who "A" was and they finally did even though one of them almost got killed.
I will not tell you who it was, you'll just have to read the book to find out.

About the Book

Article posted March 4, 2011 at 01:48 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 128

1. I've read the last 2 books in this series. They are alike becuase they have the same characters and both of the books before Percy, Annabeth and Grover all go on a quest together. They are different because there is all new characters and a different quest and plot.
2. I feel a little anxious because there is always cliff hanger at the end of every chapter so I'm excited to see what's next in the story.
3. I think the main conflict of the story is all the challeges that the characters have to face, so even if they face a really challeging moment, they keep on going on search for the goal of their quest, and yes I do agree with the actions.
4.I don't think the book relates to my own life because all the things in the story are so fiction that none if it could actually happen.

"The Titan's Curse"
By: Rick Riordan

I think this book will be about the Titan Lord, Kronos because of the title. He will put a curse on one of the campers.
I would get along with Annabeth because we are both outgoing and get along with people well.
I think the characters are going to face many challenges because they are going to a forein land with many monsters and enimies.
A connection I can make to the book is since the story is about teamwork then I can relate to it because teamwork means a lot to me.

"Believe you can and your halfway there." Theodore Roosevelt.

a) I think it means that some people want to do something but they don't have faith in themselves to actually do it.
b) I can apply it in my own life because sometimes I don't have the confidence to do something so this quote really motivates me.
c) Yes, because people can learn that if they want to do something then they have to confide in themselves to do it.
d) It can make a impact on the world because people will become more confident in themselves and our world will improve in techonology if there is more inventors that believe in themselves.

What I have learned

Article posted February 2, 2011 at 11:07 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 158

I learned a lot about my poet. Here are some things I learned:
1. Sir Walter Ralegh went to jail many times for disobeying rules.
2. He was born in the 1500's.
3. He wrote most of his poem while he was in jail.

Some things I learned about the technology in this project are:
1. That everyone can see what are group put but they can't edit it.
2. What a Wiki is.

One thing I lerned about communication is
1. Our group can communicate each other through the disscusion board which is a "board" that people can post on to communicate.

The book I read was 'Mockingjay'. This book had a lot of sensory details. It really helped the book come alive. The author really explained the details and it almost felt like I was inside the book.
Katniss was the main character in 'Mockingjay'. She was called the Mockingjay because she was the one to save Panem from the dreaded 'Hunger Games'. She had to leave her home in District 12 and become a citizen of the hidden District 13 because of a terrible fire. She will rise to defeat the evil President Snow and all of Panem will be at peace.
The 'Hunger Games' is a game where a boy and a girl from each District fight to the death. The Capitol sends them to an arena that the Game Makers made. Katniss survived the first 2 hunger games and now she's in hiding. Suzzane Collins -the author- descibed the character really well and I wish this book wasn't the last
