I am currently reading FADE by Robert Cormier.
1. I think this book is going to be about a thirteen year old boy named Paul trying to find out what happened to Uncle Adelard in the picture at the family reunion. The boy, Paul, is always asking his father to retell the story. They were at a reunion and there were twelve family members to be in the photograph. They were all there, but when the camera flashed, Uncle Adelard disappeared. Paul desperately wants to know what happened.
2. I think the character I would relate to best would be Aunt Rosanna. She is a very glamorous person who wears sparkly clothes and bright red lipstick. You can already tell that she is a friendly person and she likes to tease.
3. I think that the largest conflict the characters will face will be a dark secret that they find out about their family. From the way that Paul (the thirteen year old boy) has described it, they have an awkward, odd, and mysterious family.
4. SInce I am only on the first couple of pages, I haven't been able to make many connections. One thing I thought was very "me-ish" was when the son, who had heard the story of the photograph multiple times, keeps pestering his father saying, "Tell me exactly what happened." I also do this, anytime I hear something good or interesting. Both me and the character want to know EXACTLY what happened if something is interesting.
