Reader's Response Journal Yes, I did notice some things in the "Locked Doors" by Anne Sexton that I didn't notice before. I noticed how evil and deep it was when I read over it. I also discovered how much it related to her life. She probably wrote this poem when she was going through a depression. I noticed some lines that really stood out to me.

"Some say the devil locks the door
from the inside.
Some say the angels lock it from the outside."
These lines stood out to me because of the deep meaing of how bad hell is.
