Video games.

Most games I've played over 3 times, all the way through, but then some games don't have an end and just go on, like online games. I prefer console games over a mouse and keyboard. I'm really into N64 and Xbox, GameCube and play station. I love too many games to name, but here's some examples; the legend of Zelda series, assassins creed series, Mario games, and jak and daxter. <3

Passions.

Music. It's in everyone's life. I put it as one of my top priorities. It can make you happier, can describe exactly how you feel and who you are, it can make you sad, it can make you feel like you have someone when you feel like you have no one and nothing. It's the most amazing thing ever, I don't know if I would still be here without it, music helps, music saves lives. Even though most of the mainstream music out there is completely horrid and has no real message, there is music out there that is so perfect it will make you cry, we all have one or many song(s) that will bring tears to your eyes or even make you ball. I have many. Music the a powerful thing. Very inspirational and lovely. People have different tastes in music, and you're allowed too, I don't see why people fight over music, or call bands crap, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I have my own and so do you. I have a band, 3 people in it so far, we haven't decided a name, but I'm thinking "impulse" or something, we all must agree.

Human Nature.

Article posted September 11, 2012 at 01:12 PM GMT-8 • comment (1) • Reads 1595

You always hear things like "don't judge a book by its cover", "don't judge before you know them". But both of those are impossible, judging is in our nature. You have to judge everything in your mind and bring a thought to your mind about if it's good or bad, safe or dangerous. Like if you were to be at a cliff edge, you would have to judge the heigth to wether or not you would live. We judge people. End of story, you can't stop yourself from doing what's in your instincts, no matter home hard you try. We judge. When you meet someone new you ask yourself, "could they be a friend?" or "would they end up hurting me?" or even "are they a terrible person?". You can't not judge someone like everyone says they don't or won't or you shouldn't. People judge on looks and actions, but some people decide to discriminate due to what they see, that's when the problem starts. We all look different, we all are different shapes and sizes. Take away the skin, we are all the same. People judge and we can not stop that, but we can prevent bullying, in our selfs. Keep your judging to yourself, people don't need to know. What you think is your business and what others think of you is their business.

A. What have you learned about friction in this lesson?

I learned that friction can be greater or worse depending on the surface your on.

B. Why does the force on the spring scale measure the force of friction while the block moves at a steady speed?

I don't know how measuring in newtons measures friction.

C. If you used ice as one of the surfaces what results you get in this lab?

I think the results wouldn't be as high as the coarse sand paper or the fine sandpaper because it's a more smooth, slippery surface. Ther wouldnt be as much friction but there would still be quite a bit of friction.

A.which surface required the greatest amount of force to pull the wooden block across?

The coarse sandpaper.

B.which surface required the least force?

The wax paper.

C.did the weight of the block change as the surfaces changed?

No the mass and weight stayed the same even when the surfaces change. But it felt like it did get heavier.

D.review the variables for this lesson. Which variable stayed the same as you changed the surfaces?

The block. We used the same block so the block was the same weight shape and everything.

A 01. The battery was drained because the lightbulb was taking the energy.

A 02. We took a battery and put it on the charging apparatus and then we took black and red wires and then we took a lightbulb and we attached the red and black wires to the lightbulb and we took the battery off of the charging apparatus and hooked the red and black wires up to the battery and the lightbulb lit!

A 03. When we left the lightbulb connected to the battery it lit and it lit because the lightbulb took the energy from the battery.

A 04. It took the energy from the battery and the battery lost the energy.

A 05. The motor took the energy. It took the energy from the battery.
A 06. No, I don't because the light and the motor ran just fine with the energy that it had.

A 07.A battery: a small cylinder with a positive and a negative side. On the positive side there is a little bump and that is how you can tell it's the positive side.

The Salmon Life Cycle

Article posted March 9, 2011 at 08:31 AM GMT-8 • comment • Reads 916

                                                                    EGG STAGE

A salmons lifecycle begins with the female salmon digging out a shallow nest in the gravel underwater most likeley the bottom of a river so the female may lay her peachy-orange colored eggs. The eggs are extremeley fragile and tender. The eggs get covered by a thin layer of gravel providing some protection. That is  my description of  the beginning of the salmon life cycle.Salmon eggssurvive well when the water theyre in is nice and clear cool water. They also live well with trees and plants lining along the river to provide shade for the salmon eggs so they dont over-heat.The plants and trees provide some protetcion for the eggs and keep the water a cool comfortable temprature.cool enough for the eggs and possibly other wildlife.Nests are extremeley fragile and can easily crushed or destroyed withoue anyone or anything knowing it.People hiking or fishing could become a uhge threat for the eggs by accidentaly crushing them or washing them away by walking in the water.Animals such as wild mammals or other animal such as large birds or mayby a hikers dog could be a threat to.When the animals swim near the eggs thay could possiblystep on th nest or create a small current therefor washing the fragile little eggs far from theyre nests.

                                                                               ALEVIN

The eggs the salmno lay during the wintertime hatch in the upcoming spring. The small fish are about one inch long or possibly more or les. The alevin have something called a yolksack attatched to their underbelly. The alevin live on this "lunchbag" type source for a month or so.The yolksack that is attatched to the young alevin contains minerals, vitamins, and protien the alevin ive on that for a month or so before the young alevin begin to emerge from the gravel to hunt for their own food (bugs and small plants etc.)Salmon face many dangers throughout their entire lives from eggs to the spawning adults they suffer threats from gulls dippers and sculpins and even trout all feed upon the young alevin.

                                                                         FRY

The young salmon fry begin to move into the rivers often feeding on small zoo plankton unti they grow large enough to eat insects or larger foods

some of the other salmon species such as parr and pink start       downstream. The loss of  habitat along the rims of streams, rivers, estuaries, and bays is one of the worst dangers to the salmon's survival. Salmon need cool water, bugs to feed on, and woody stuff to hide under. Habitat along the rivers provide shade which helps keep the water temperature nice and cool for the salmon throughout the year. Cool, clear water holds lots of oxygen that the salmon also needto live. Logs, branches, and sticks that fall or hang into the rivers give salmon places to hide and have food for insects and plants that alot of  the salmon feed upon. The roots of trees and bushes also help hold dirt and rocks in place on the bank.Although the logging rules have been changed to protect habitat, previous logging practices have caused some problems. Sometimes little growth was left beside streams and rivers. This resulted in higher water temperatures and increased sediment runoff. Also, without bushes, trees, or woody debris, fish had no more places to hide and less food to eat. Construction of logging roads also contributed to landslides and sediment runoff.

                                                                SMOLT

As the smolt being to migrate twoards the ocean they will begin a process called smoltification.Smoltification process referres to the changes a young salmon goes through. The smolt need food such as bugs and water to live.Without water the salmon would die.If the smolt encounter something called a "Hydroeletric dam" there's a risk they could be sucked in the dam and crushed by very powerful turbines. The dam produces electricity for people. The slow lakes behind the dam's dont have alot of oxygen, and dekay the migration for the salmon and attract predators therefor giving the salmon more dangers to face. Some hydroelectric damn have intalled some screens, channels, and other devices to make systems that will help guide young salmon away from the dangerous turbines and safely to the river below the dam. The systems they use are called"juvenile fish bypass systems"

                                                                    SEA RUN ADULT

Depending on  the species  mature salmon are anywere from 14 inches to five feet in leingth and anyweere from two to 125 in weight. The salmon feed on smaller fish ,shrimp, and squid etc.Salmon have many threats some of them are Orca whales, sea lions, and seals are some of the natural predators that the salmon facce     in the ocean.Humans eat salmon as well.

                                                        SPAWNER STAGE

Once the salmon start heading back to were they were bron so they can spawn the do not eat they use stored fat for a energy source. The distance the salmon need to travel  varies. The average travel distance is about 150 miles. The longest known spawning trip length was from the Bering Sea over to Lake Teslin in Canada, a total distance of about 2,400 miles and a 2,200 foot elevation gain.On the way upstream, the salmon have to face fishermen, fish ladders, waterfalls, and more predators in addition to the challenges they had to faced on their way downstream earlier in their lives. Humans may have also built a few more dams or possibly have increased the river pollution level.Although the salmon do not usually feed on their journey upstream, they can be caught by very skillfully presented fishing tackle. In more clear water, where the salmon can be seen, it is not uncommon for a fisherman to show the fish his lure many  times before attracting the fish's interest enough to take the bait.
