Westminster Woods

My trip to Westminster Woods was awesome and wet. I liked the nature room the most. There were a lot of fun things in there. The first thing we were assigned was to make our journals, which was cool. They had tide pool information, which was interesting.

My least favorite part was the rain. By the end of the first day I was drenched. It was still really fun though, and the hike was awesome. We found lots of different plants and fungi, like black trumpets. We also found purple orchids, which are tiny, little, purple flowers. The hikes at Westminster Woods were the best!

The food at Westminster Woods was amazing! They had pancakes, spaghetti, pizza, and much more! One night, for dessert, we had ice cream sandwiches. It was the best! On the last day, we had cheese and pepperoni pizza with strawberry Jell-o. The food rocked!

Sometimes, I wished Westminster Woods would never end. Other days, I really wanted to go home. But, Westminster Woods was the best overnight field trip ever!

My Thoughts of the Gold Rush

Article posted January 10, 2011 at 06:11 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 170

I thought that the Gold Rush was really harsh. I think that because if a miner was accused of stealing or something they were punished the very same day. Staking a claim was very simple. Although, if the miner didn’t work his claim at least once out of every three days, he could get claim jumped. That’s kind of mean! I believe that the Gold Rush is awfully horrible-except for the fact that they find gold!

The Cay Blog

The Cay

I think that The Cay was an interesting book. Theodore Taylor, who is a very good writer, wrote this book. I would have never read this book if I wasn’t in this class. So, I think you should truly read the book called The Cay. A character’s name is Phillip, the main character of this book. He is a prejudice white boy who later becomes blind. Timothy is the stubborn black man that Phillip had to rely on in order to survive. Timothy is very old, and he wants to make sure that Phillip can survive on his own. The Cay is an outstanding book and you must read Theodore Taylor’s best book yet, The Cay.
