Dear President,
Congratulations on being elected! I voted for you because you are trustworthy and kind. The other good thing is you will keep your promises and not behave like other horrible presidents.
I hope you will be optimistic and charismatic too. But you will need to fulfill your promises. Just like how you said we will help the poor by giving them proper shelter, money, etc. and you said we will enhance industry and trading… But the main thing is how you will do it? And I was hoping you will try to improve cable, internet, phone reception, etc. just like Mr. Rafic Hariri intended.
I voted for you and I hope you won’t break your promises.

You can’t live without me. You use me day and night. Others don’t care. Some keep on washing me constantly. Some people say that I’m dirty. It’s not my fault!
Guys aim then shoot! What is wrong with you? You keep forgetting to flush. WELL, don’t think I’m going to flush myself. You also do your business on my seat accidentally and don’t clean up… Don’t think I’m okay with this I have feelings and emotions. Have a heart! O.K. Some of you fart on me! It’s gross, it’s smelly! So I hear a complaint saying” EEEW THIS TOILET SMELLS LIKE FARTS!!!” Well it’s your fault I’m hated and disgusting. The major problem is that you throw toilet paper in me and flush. It’s a bad thing because then I choke and throw up what I already have. Sometimes women hug me. Not for love, but for morning sickness! They spit and vomit in me! People find me very disgusting because of you! Is this fair? Then you wash your hands as if it’s me who’s full of germs. If this happened to you, you would understand. I love it when you clean me with your brush and detergent, it makes me feel fresh! Got to love that! I hope you will consider my miserable life.
I hope you’ll think twice about leaving me dirty and smelly… Or else…

Have you ever had to spend a night with a sleeptalker and an out of the world neaty? Well let me tell you what happened.
When I arrived there I saw everyone sitting on the carpet with our Arabic teacher Miss Abou Habib. “Miss Abou Habib I’m so sorry I’m late!” A lot of shushes could be heard. When Arabic was over we all ran to the bus gate. Happily singing I ran to the bus. I sat in the back with Kareem, Taha and Khaled. On our way there we watched “Lion King 3” to kill time.
When we arrived I was really excited yet homesick! We walked to the camp and I was starting to feel hungry… Luckily they gave us some cookies and hot chocolate. After that snack we had set up our tents and went to the playing campus to play Capture the Flag! It was really fun. When we returned to the camp we had either were in our tents or playing free time. Bad part was I was hungry… Again!
An hour later we had brunch the food was a cake slice with hot chocolate. Then we prepared ourselves and had a two hour hike. It’s a good thing I found a cool stick before we started because the hike was full of thorns. I had to push those “Devil Plants” away!
On the way back we saw a hunter shooting birds I felt sad because the birds were tiny and colorful. Half an hour after that sad sight we reached the campus. We had free time. I played but not too much because I felt hungry. I know you would thing I eat a lot but I missed breakfast and I’m even eating right now. Thankfully we had lunch. The food was pasta and salad. Later we went to the playing campus and gathered wood. After an hour we had our last free time. I played hide and seek tag. You have to hide and if the seeker sees you, you have to run to base before he catches you.
Dinner was delicious. It was a chicken sandwich and some salad. But that wasn’t the end of the day because the wood that we gathered was for a campfire! Everyone was quiet while Coach Wissam told us the story about how he saved Coach Andre when he got stuck in a deep hole. It was weird and funny. At the end of the story we had delicious smores! After that we all headed to our tents and fell into a deep sleep. Except for me because the sleeptalker was screaming and another tentmate kept pushing stuff on me. So I stayed awake… Alone.
The next day we headed to the playing area and had three activities. The first two were archery and cable walking.
Archery was the easiest. I almost hit bulls eye! Cable walking required balance and concentration. You had to walk on the cable while your friend balanced you. Then you switch.
The last activity was bricks. You had only six bricks. The objective of the game was to get your whole team to the boards in the middle of the sandpit without falling or stepping on the sand.
We played boys vs. girls. Mia kept on falling backwards. It was hilarious! Boys won 5-3.
After the fun activities we went to our tents to dismantle them. We played a bit then headed home. I wish we could go back.

Tomorrow we are going for an overnight trip in Deir El Qamar. I’m so excited yet so worried!I was worried about whom my roommate was… or should I say tentmate.
I was excited because it was only the third week of school and we are having our first camping trip. Last year we only had two trips , one overnight and the other wasn’t. I was also wondering if I would be comfy in my sleeping bag and always praying that a bug wont crawl in our tent . I hape nothing bad happens and I have fun. I will write an article when I come back so don’t worry!

During the vacation, my family and cousins went to dinner to celebrate my brother’s birthday in a fancy restaurant called Cocteau. I was finally going to see my favorite cousin Waleed! I haven’t seen him since my birthday. Which was twelve months ago! We went in two different cars. My dad and brothers in a Cadillac and my mom and I in a range rover. Luckily we got to the restaurant before Waleed’s family. Once they arrived we ate a lot I ate so much I was dizzy. After that when I felt better we ate cake. It was really yummy!

I liked that the author could use his sense of creativity, and could make it based on his country’s beliefs.
I also noticed that the main element is teamwork. Because when Gilgamesh was about to be killed by the bull of heaven, Enkidu jumped on the bull and distracted it so Gilgamesh could run away to kill the bull from behind.
I also learned that a long time ago, people used to believe that gods existed! Like Shamash the god of the sun. Or Ishtar the goddess of love.
