I say to myself, not again. Our substitute, Ms. B, is doing various things with us, completely off schedule, despite how Ms. Noshie was working on it for her whole Spring Break! She was working on it for us to use, not to throw it away! It’s Science now. We have to learn about geology. We had to take 3 sugar cubes, a cup, some pebbles, and a small piece of cardboard. The nasty substitute teacher gives us papers about ‘Erosion’. The very next day, she says, “Oops, I mixed up the papers yesterday! I was supposed to give you ‘Weathering’ before ‘Erosion’!” Oh my goodness. How could she even do that? Ms. Noshie is going to feel very indignant when she comes back from Bangkok that she spent all this time working on what we have to do, and Ms. B spent all this time messing it up! Students have been writing expository text since September. The focus has been on the characteristics of the genre, and a number of different styles within the genre. In Writers Workshop, the focus has been on Ideas and Organization, and a beginning has been made into Sentence Fluency. This particular writing piece was an assessment to see to what extend students can plan and execute a text independently, including the formatting (which was up to their choice, for a change). Written on December 17, 2012, this was a timed assignment. This is the result. mso-bidi-font-family:GothicE"> Article posted March 1, 2013 at 08:56 AM GMT+2 • comment • Reads 161

I replied to him in a nonchalant tone, “I don’t know. Maybe it was too hard for me or I have been lacking sleep because of all your snoring.” He smiled, and then his smile turned into a frown. “I expect you to do better,” he says to me. I reply, “I can’t do better than my best.” Then there was a moment of silence. He finally says, “True, how about we study together on the weekend, and enjoy some ice-cream now?” I smiled. “Sure,” I said, “That would be nice.” Failed Test Ona© January 2013   “Oh, Ona,” my mother started, “I thought we studied this!” “Well, yes, but I’m not the only one who failed!” I replied. “Oh, really?” “Yes!” “Well,” she said, “you should do better on tests.” I blushed, “Well, this test means nothing! Even the teacher says!” “Oh alright,” she said, and I smiled. “Phew!” I said to myself. Article posted February 6, 2013 at 03:01 PM GMT+2 • comment • Reads 253

We have to write how many pages we have read, then we have to write a vocabulary word that we don't understand or an interesting word if we understood all the words. We have to write them down, look them up in the dictionary and then write a sentence using the words. We have written down all our vocabulary words since September on a word doccument and copied them onto a website called, "Wordle". These are all my vocabulary words. Deir el Qamar is a forest in the mountains. Deir el Qamar has pine cedar trees. I go to Deir el Qamar with my class. We went for an overnight trip. We go there every year to see the nature.  But Deir el Qamar was so tiring! Want to know why? In Deir el Qamar, we did a two hour hike which got is very tired. Then we started running and chasing each other and that makes us even more tired. We got to rest, but only for a few minutes. I was very, very tired at that point. Some people got no sleep because people in other tents kept on talking constantly and that kept us awake for about an hour. Then there were also weird noises that caused people to stay awake for about half an hour. We had no sleep and the next day we had to do loads of activities. The next day, it was too hot to do activities. We were all out of breath and even so, we had to do a couple more activities before we left. Even if it wasn’t in the heat, we would have been really tired. Deir el Qamar was a very nice trip but when I got home I went straight to bed. I slept like a baby!   I even missed diner! I slept from 2PM-5:30AM! I hope next time we go, we get more sleep, and less activities. Article posted November 5, 2012 at 03:11 PM GMT+2 • comment • Reads 1109

I wish I could drink them every day. But there is just one problem; fizzy drinks are bad for you! But why are they so bad?   Fizzy drinks are bad for your health. They are full of sugar that stays between your teeth. The sugar can start to give you cavities. The gasses can also give you a stomach ache. You wouldn’t want that now, would you? You can also get addicted to it! Some fizzy drinks have chemicals that can make you addicted to it, which will make you want to drink it every day. Hmm… So you want to have a fizzy drink before you start to exercise? Nuh-uh! Not a good idea! Having a fizzy drink before you start exercising can give you a bad cramp! A cramp so bad, that you won’t be able to do your morning run! It’s okay to have a fizzy drink once in a while, but try not to drink too many! It’s not healthy, it can give you a bad stomach ache, and it’s addictive and can give you a bad cramp.   Fact: Do you know why they called it ‘7 UP’? The 7 is because 7UP used to be 7 ounces. The UP indicates what direction the bubbles are going. That’s why they called it 7 UP! J J J Article posted November 5, 2012 at 03:09 PM GMT+2 • comment • Reads 289
