I think we put our poems on our page, and I pick the color poem.
YELLOW IS BANANA LEOMONADE OR CHEESE
YELLOW IS GATORAID SOMETHIN' THAT WILL PLEASE
(YELLOW SMELLS LIKE SUITE FRUITE)
YELLOW TASTES LIKE SUR-GER HEALTHY ONE THAT IS
YELLOW ALSO TASTES LIKE COOLNESS ON A HOT HOT DAY
(YELLOW LOOKS BRIGHT AS A S-M-I-L-E, SMILE)
YELLOW SOUNDS LIKE THE SQUEAL OF HAPPY CHILDREN
YELLOW SOUNDS LIKE THE EXCITEMENT OF HAPPY CHILDREN TOO!
(YELLOW FEELS SQUISHY AND TICKLISH)
YELLOW HAS LOOKS, TASTES SMELL AND SOUND, YOU CAN ALSO TOUCH IT TOO!
BUT ANYWHERE, yellow is my favorite color.

Fig Pudding (part 1)

Hey, what up classmates?
I am recently reading “Fig Pudding” by Ralph Fletcher. I’m not that far but so far it’s good. I can’t imagine living with 4 brothers, 1 sister, and having to behave like I’m at the Royal Wedding (lol). I am right now trying to find out what “A Yidda Yadda” means. Whatever it is, someone wants it. (I forget his name) There are some funny parts, like when the family tried to find out what “Yidda Yadda” meant, this one girl said it could mean anything to little spider to yellow water”. So they asked him if he wanted a little spider or YELLOW WATER! I hope it continues to be great!

Hi Class,
I am reading a novel called FALWED DOGS, THE NOVEL written by: Berkeley Breathed. It’s a hard to understand book, but once you get to chapter 8: $180,000, it starts to make sense, (results may vary due to different minds). After that is gets realistic, which is what were going to talk about today.
I found the descriptive in the beginning of chapter 14: Descent. It is where Sam (the dog/dachshund) got shot by a rifle by Uncle Hamish, because he thought he was going to kill the baby. I have the quotation from the book right in front of me.
Sam lay on his side in the snow and was even unsure about what was happening then he’d been just seconds before. He knew there was a searing pain across the top of his head but didn’t know it was from a bu8llet that had grazed his skull, leaving an ugly gash oozing the scent of blood: a first for the dachshund.
Now this may sound like a spoiler, but this is only at page 83 out of 216. Can’t wait to read the rest of the book. I hope Sam is okay.
Happy reading,

Dear Class,
I am still reading HANK ZIPZER, NIAGRA FALLS, OR DOES IT? By: Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver. I’ve gotten up to at least 10; so far, the book is about his life. But he’s doing an essay. (Something he is really not good at)
This is the book where there is no idea what would happen next, but I’ve been trying to make predictions, like in the mid-beginning of the book, I predicted that he would have to write a report/do a project on Niagara Falls because the book title has “NIAGRA FALLS” in it. It turns out he has to write a report about “what you did over the summer”. Hank said that he got a paragraph, but it looked wrong, so he erased something, and he made a hole. He tried to fix it, it got so big, he could see his home desk. So since he wanted to see his friends, he said/lied to his dad that he wrote the 1/5 of the paper (the paragraph). I made another prediction; I predicted that since Hank knows what the key to his essay is, he would run back to home and remake it. But he didn’t he decided to make a model of what his essay is about. (Niagara Falls)
There is not much Inferring in this book, but I did make 1 so far. I inferred that since they went to a bowling alley owned by the bully’s father, so I questioned would they see the bully (they went there because Pop-Pop-Pete knows someone who works there)
Now since this is a book where you have a lot of questions of what would happen next! I questioned “Who is Fern”, well that’s the guy Pop-Pop-Pete knows at the bowling alley. And why did Hank put on his paper, “NIAGRA FALLS, OR DOES IT?” Why did he put the “or does it????” I made one more question, as said in the prediction category, about making a working Niagara Falls model, remember? But I questioned that how in the world would he make a working model with boats, moving water, and all of the stuff a water fall would have. Well he made the moving water out of a hose, pump, and tube, and the boat was made out of LEGO and had LEGO people in it.
I found a new word, Brim, but I tried to look up what it meant because it didn’t tell, but there was no answer. I’m guessing that it means the other brim too, the edge of something.
Well that’s all I have to say,
From cs.

Dear Class,
I’ve been reading (for night read) Hank Zipzer: Niagra Falls, or Does It? Written by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver. I just started it, I’m on page 20. The story is about a kid named Hank Zipzer, he is a big trouble maker. On the first day of school, he was sent to the principal’s office. And he could not find his backpack which wasn’t in the same spot from the day before, so he ended up being a total of 17 minutes late. (This is why he went to the principal’s office)
The school has weird name for the school; this is where I made a question. See the school’s name is not like, Franklin Elemtrey, (Town Name) Elemtray School, e.t.c, e.t.c, e.t.c……………The school’s name is not a name, but a code, yes, a code. It’s called PS 87. (Who would name a school that??? I mean really? Weird huh????????????
I also made a genralstation, it was about the principal, principal Love, and it’s a guy. He has a grey suit, grey glasses, and what hank says, “A GREY FACE” Now you think the principal would have grey hair, but not he is bald with RED hair. (Like 5 tiny strings) Anyway, the generalization was Principal Love is mean to Hank and Hank doesn’t like him either. Evidence: He said he could not go to the bathroom while he had to go to the principal’s and he had to go to the bathroom really bad=http://=http:// Plus he had a dry mouth, so he tried to get a quick drink, but he got busted for a 5 sec. drink. WRONG!
So I made 1 more, and I guess it’s an “iii” I really don’t know. But let’s get started. It was about his teacher, Mrs. Adolf, (I think actually had the grey stuff) His name is Hank as known, but his teacher called him Henry, he said he wants to be called Hank because his friends call him that, but guess what the teacher said… (My friends you have guessed it!) “Well I am not your friend!” I can’t believe she said that!!!! CRAZY.
Anyway, the book is really great! It’s my favorite series. I want to Read them all.
Happy Reading,
CS

Dear Class,
I have been reading Beezus and Ramona by Beverly Cleary. It is really funny right now. Romona got grounded, and then she was being good afterwards so she got a cookie. Beezus’ friend was over and he brought his dog and the dog ate the cookie, so Romona shoved him in the bathroom but didn’t lock it. The dog hit the lock. So they all tried to get him out. I really used some stragies here.
I didn’t write all of them down because this is about 4 pages. But I did a question (Q): How will they get Ribsey (the dog)out?????? In my head I was thinking how a dog could lock a door? How much time will Ribsey be in there? I predict the fire department will have to come because there is no why to get Ribsy out. SOOOO GREAT!!!
