Belize and NH Students (04/02/10)
|
| Description:
|
Our 7th grade students surveyed each other and created graphs about ourselves. The graphs were then shared with two schools in southern Belize. (Punta Gorda Methodist and Mayamopan Primary). The Belizean students repeated the assignment in their classes and added to our stacked column graphs. Our students then remixed the data into Wordles. Find out more about all of us through the Wordles.

In science class we created graphs about our favorite things. I did my graph about favorite sports. When we had finished our graphs we sent them to a school in Belize where students added to these graphs. When the graph was complete, I used wordle to create this image, the larger the word is, the more popular it was according to this survey.

This is wordle that I made from a graph of what religions a handful of students at RJH follow. Ms. Adams then took it with her when she went to Belize and took a survey of some students there. The size of the words represent how many people follow that religion. The bigger the word, the more popular it is.

We did graphs and I did mine on favorite sports. Our science teacher brought them to Belize with her and they added to the graph. The best was soccer, the least was lacrosse and football but all the others were moderate and no one from our school picked cricket or volleyball. It was really fun learning about what kinds of sports they like in Belize!
