Carlo: Master Of All Matter

We are an intermediate classroom in an elementary school in British Columbia, Canada. We use our blogs as a place to practise expressing our ideas in writing (and maybe even sound, pictures & video when we're ready). We try to leave thoughtful comments for classmates & other bloggers we visit. Comments help us critique our ideas and our writing. They also motivate us to do more thinking, writing, sharing & revising. You can leave your thoughts on any particular article by clicking "comment" below it. Comments will be published after I have had a chance to read them.

How YOU Can Use The Marathon of Hope to be Successful!

Article posted October 13, 2011 at 01:11 AM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 845

The first step to success is to know what you’re doing. Nobody gets up and starts fogging without even knowing what it is.The second step is when you don’t plan ahead, things get much harder. Terry Fox know what that was like. He didn’t expect an empty reception hall, a Quebec policeman threatening to arrest him, and he especially did not expect to have cancer and to have his leg amputated . When that happens, though, you get up and keep going.

I learned quite a bit about success and Terry Fox by watching a movie about him. In fact, that’s how I even know about him. So, later on, if you want to be successful at something, think about how Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope were successful at raising more than a million dollars.

(Also, Terry didn't manage to finish running across Canada)

Report: Death Of a Criminal

Article posted May 3, 2011 at 10:32 PM GMT0 • comment (3) • Reads 502

Do you know who died recently? It's Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind many terrorist attacks. But should we be celebrating death? Sure, it;s a dangerous terrorist, but- you never saw anyone celebrate the death of Adolf Hitler. What about his family? Sure, I'm glad Al Qaida's leader is dead, but I need your comments to decide.

Responsibility

Article posted May 3, 2011 at 10:22 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 980

I'm back, with somethin called responsibility. Whether it's taking responsibility for our actions or keeping a promise to do somethig, we all have responsibilities. For example, a spider's responsibility is to make sure the Earth doesn't get overrun by insects. So, stand up, & do whatcha have to do!

Carrots For Mr. Cuddles PART 3

Article posted March 9, 2011 at 05:54 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 209

For those of you who have not read the previous 2 parts of this 5- part tale, I advice you to do so. And if you have, well, the wait is over.

Mr. Cuddles needed to complete his goal, half done already. All he needed to do now was to take over the planet he called 'E-art'. E-art, as Mr. Cuddles wrote in his diary, was a dangerous planet. He had already been chased by cats, treated as a toy, and well, you wouldn't want to know. 3 Years later, he had taken over E-art. E-art was under his control. His species came, and they congratulated him with an AWESOME prize: A walnut-atomic bomb-donut maker-back scratcher.

But the butler, he had different plans.

On to part 4! Pretty soon.

NO Question

Article posted March 8, 2011 at 10:17 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 1207

Let me show you another comic from Bitf( Funny comics website), and you'd probably want to know the punchline.

Presenting........Arms Race!

123 – Arms Race

Now, the joke here is that the two dragons here (Bowser and Charizard) are trying to get an advantage over each other. If you've played Super Smash Bros. Brawl, you'll probably understand it more.

The Young People's Concerts

Article posted February 27, 2011 at 11:34 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 875

Young People's Concerts are concerts that my school has on occasion. We have had 4 of them in th school year.

The first one focused on African traditions, including a few stories.

The second concert focused on ballet, that's right, and showed us the average practice session of a ballet dancer.

The penultimate concert was actually done all by one person and she did a post-World-War 2 soldier reunion and the developing relationship between a little girl and a retired veteran.

The final YPC concert was the most musical, as a vancouverite band played for us, and surprisingly, they made use of violins and a complex electronic system in place of normal instruments.

That is all as I have nothing more to say.

Ache Brasil

Article posted February 8, 2011 at 08:58 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 1090

Ache Brasil. It's a dance group consisting of many brazilians. They performed at our school a short while back, and I was impressed by their dancing style, and their unique music. They taught us a bit about an African king called Ganga Zumba, who was an escaped slave in Brazil. They also have a website called www.achebrasil.com, which tells more about the performance group. This is all I have to say, AND ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW! Bye.

  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/TriforceBun/Kirby%2520Adventures/09-Jigglypuff.jpg" width="150" alt="" />

This is an example of a comic from www.brawlinthefamily.com,which is a site where you can find over 300 funny comics. Even if you don't get them, most contain an explanation to the punchline. If you want to see another one, then here it is:

100 – The Very Hungry Kirby

See? Most aren't in color, but they're still good. This one is a joke on The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a book.
