Other Worlds

Mr. Gianforte came in and talked to the class about space and other worlds. There was a slide show to help us understand. Mr.Gianforte taught us about how planets rotate around the earth. For some planets, it takes hundreds of years to go around the sun once. For Earth it only takes one year.This is because the planets that are further away from the sun have a bigger circle to go around.
Giaforte also told us about lightyears too. He talked all about different ways of measuring in astronomy. For example astronomical units (AUs)is the distance between the Earth and Sun.
Mr. Gianforte taught us about dwarf planets. I never knew that there were so many dwarf planets. Pluto is also a dwarf planet.
Overall I learned so much about space from Mr. Gianforte.
