The relationship between Tom and Jessica from Fire Girl by Tony Abbot changed from the beginning to end because when Tom first meets Jessica, he was scared of her. Tom was scared of Jessica like most kids at school because she had been badly burned. Then when their teacher asks Tom to take Jessica her home work because she lived close to him, Tom starts to talk to Jessica and gets to know her better. This then leads to a friend ship that Tom doesn’t want public for the fear of being made fun of at school. In the end of the book when Jessica tells tom she is moving Tom realizes that he could have been nicer to Jessica and made the relationship public. So therefore the relationship between Jessica and Tom changes from beginning to end.
