November Letter
November was a great month in fifth grade. Once again, we accomplished a lot, did some neat activities, and we learned many new things. My three favorite activities were The Disaster Project, The Quiz Bowl, and Finishing Charlotte Doyle. I hope you will be amazed as you read about them.
First, I would like to write about The Disaster Project. My group did ours on hurricanes. We learned many things like causes, tools, and effects. My group also did a 3-D poster of things that happen when hurricanes come. On the 3-D poster we started making an ocean with some tidal waves. Next we did a beach and an area that is our park. Lastly we did some mobile homes and street lamps tipped over. It looked great when we were finished.
Next, I will explain about how I did The Quiz Bowl. I was one of the fifteen people selected to do the QUIZ BOWL and represent Washington school (and or Owatonna). The quiz bowl is when you answer 100 random questions (Example: Who was the character in The Wizard Of Oz that wanted a heart?). Our ending score was 908/1000. Mrs. Melcher said that that was the best score in a while! It was really fun to do.
Finally, I would like to tell you about finishing The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. Our RTI book was The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle and it was awesome! It takes place in the beginning many years ago in England a girl named Charlotte Doyle was getting transported to Providence Rhode Island and there are many situations that go on the ship. It is really good! I would recommend this book for anyone in 4th grade - 8th grades!
I hope you understand why November was such an incredible month for me in fifth grade. This month was outstanding, but I can’t wait to see what December brings. Fifth grade is AWESOME, PERFECT, AND UNBELIEVEABLE!
