Welcome Parents and Students!!!

Welcome to Parkview Elementary School and to my classroom. I am very excited about the challenges and experiences ahead. My name is Tara Shea. As you may know, I have spent the last seven years teaching at Parkview, and the last six years teaching first grade.

Throughout the year, I encourage you to have an active voice in your child’s education. If any questions or concerns arise, please call me. I can be reached at school at 982-8538. I also encourage you to e-mail me at: tshea@newlondon.k12.wi.us with any problems, questions, or comments. My goal is to positively accommodate all students’ social, emotional, and academic needs and to assist all students in becoming productive citizens.

I am looking forward to an exciting school year!

Dear Parents~

I give you back your child, the same child you entrusted to my care last fall. I give him/her back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible and more mature than he/she was then. Although he/she would have attained this in spite of me, it has been my happy privilege to watch his/her personality unfold day by day and marvel at each new achievement, each new success, each new expansion of self.

I give him/her back reluctantly; for having spent nine months together in the narrow confines of a crowded classroom, we have grown close, have become part of each other and shall always be one another’s friend. We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, and enriched our lives together this year. I wish it could go on indefinitely, but give him/her back I must.

Take care of him/her for he/she is precious and one of a kind. Remember that I shall always be interested in your child and his/her destiny, wherever he/she goes, whatever he/she does, whoever he/she becomes. I have loved being a part of his/her life.
Thank you for sharing such an amazing child with me!

Today we made fraction pizza. Students choose to use 1/4 or 1/2. They needed to create a pizza using this fraction. Yum!
