My picture book reflection:

Bike Safety:
To be safe on the roads and my bike I learnt I had to check my bike to see if it is broken,how to ride with one hand on the handel bar so that I can do hand signals and how to scooter on a bike.

Picture Book: I then had to use my understandings of bike safety and write a picture book story that included some aspects of bike safety.

Illustrations: I also had to learn about illustrations – I carried out a survey about illustrations in picture books.
I found out that picture books all had illustrations, some were full page, some only half pages and there were many different ways to illustrate these books.

I then learnt and practised some techniques for illustrating picture books and included some of these in my picture book such as shadow art,and collage.

To make my picture book interactive, I embedded links within my story and finally I entered it into the Feet First competition.

Our school won a Highly Commended Certificate and some picture books for our Digital Journey Picture Book stories.

Introduction

William Hamilton (known as Bill Hamilton or Billy Hamilton) is famous for being the first person to make a jet boat.

His Early Years
Sir William Hamilton was born in 1899 in the South Island and grow up as a farm lad, his family lived on an isolated sheep station in the Canterbury high country.

His Great Invention
Sir William Hamilton was the first person to invent a jet boat, it was his dream to make one. He named the boat the Hamilton Jet Boat. William Hamilton made jet boats and designed speed cars.

He got honoured by Queen Elizabeth with knighthood for his valuable service in the field of engineering and for designing jet boats.

I walked into the hall with all the amazing superheroes and sat down on the floor in front of the audience. I watched RIddler and all the evil villains walk in. RIddler disd an evil laugh and so did Thug. Scorpion, Zurg, The Wizzard and Darth Vader were walking in as well. They all said their lines and said them very evilly. WHen the classes walked inn, I looked at their outfits, they looked great. I was a hero. The hero I was is Spiderman. FIrst Batman said his lines. Then there was a dance by Room 15. Their superhero theme was Batman. Next Wonderwoman said her lines, then there was a dance by my class. They were doing a song called "Freak Out". Then it was my turn. When I got on the stage, I almost fainted. I said my line in front of millions of people. It felt so scary and freaky in front of all those people. Just before I went in the door to get behind stage, my Dad called out to me.I told him to go inside so he did. When the classes hadn't come on and got into their places, all the villains came on and danced to the music.After the song I ran to my Mum and Dad. I asked my baby brother if he liked the show. He said "No". I went to the classroom, got changed and went home.

My evil villain is called Evil Maxey. He wears a red and black long, ugly cape. He has one blue eye and one green eye and has three black warts on his face. His skin is orange and has bunny ears. he has green santa elf shoes and brown ragged pants. He has a blue shiny top and has a blue villain belt. He has sharp crocodile teeth. Evil Maxey wants to defeat Invisible Izzy once and for all.

Boom went the fireworks when it spread in the sky. Crackle went the fireworks when it twisted and rose in the air. Bang went the fire when it hit an enormous tree. Swish went the fireworks when it went into the sky of stars. WOW!!! went the people when they saw the fireworks.

This week Ronald McDonald came to our school. Ronad McDonald told us about Road safety.The next day Hiwi the kiwi came to our school.Hiwi the kiwi is very hilarious.Sophie's dog came to our school.Her name is mitzy, she is a very nice dog.
