Literary Element

One literary element in this book is," he paces fast and turns on a dime." This is a hyperbole. It is a hyperbole because he doesn't really turn on a dime, it's just a saying. It is saying that he turns right where he is.
Another literary element in this book is," no, Dan wants to go out in a fiery storm." This expression taken literally would mean that he wants to leave and go into a storm. But, in the book it means that he wants to show everyone that he is good, and he wants to leave a mark on the high school world. He wants everyone to remember him.

In this book, one of the themes is hard work. If you work hard in everyday life, you'll get alot farther than someone who doesn't try at all. The person who actually tries, will always get the better things and will get ahead in life. In this book it proves true because their hard work got them into college for further success in life.

The theme of this book, is that you always need to work hard. If you want real results, hard work is the only way to get there. Jay Borschel is one who always works hard. In the book he says, "They're just not into it. It's like they don't get it- they need to be here." By saying this, Jay is saying that if they aren't there 100 percent, they won't be successful. He knows what it takes to be a state champion and very successful in what he does, and he just wants everyone else to feel it. He knows that the only way they can feel it, is by showing up and trying as hard as they possibly can.

This is Jay Borschel after he won the national championship. Proof that hard work pays off.

Jay Borschel is one of the two main characters of the book. He is a three time state champions going for four. He is very determined. Throughout his whole high school career he has been doubted. He has made huge jumps through weight classes. Every year the critics say that he won't do good in the new weight class. He is a person who pushes himself every day to get better, and get that next state championship.

Dan Leclere is the other main character of the story. He too, has three state championships. He is in his senior year on the right trail to a fourth state title. Unlike Jay, Dan hasn't made all the big jumps in weight and isn't as doubted.
Both of these two young men are on the vurge of greatness. They are both phenominal athletes and very determined.

Four Days to Glory is a great book about determination. It's about two Iowa high school wrestlers. Both are three time state champions going through their senior year and their journey to the legendary fourth state championship.
There are only a handful of four time state champions, fourteen to be exact. Now, these two men are close to become the next.
The two men in this novel are Jay Borschel and Dan Leclere. These two men are on the trail to perfection. They have previously won three state championships, and now are determined to get four. Throughout the whole book, these two beat up their bodies to reach the ultimate goal. Some nights they don't eat dinner, but they are ok with it, as long as it gets them that much closer to the state tournament.

I do not like to read, but on the rare occasion that i have to, i like sports topics. Mostly, I prefer to read magasine articles. I like ESPN magasine that has news about all sports. But, if i do happen to stumble across a book, I prefer non-fiction books about sports.
