In Term 2 our class focus was on Food and Culture. We selected a country that is visiting New Zealand as part of the RWC, and looked at how culture around food is part of their lives. We chose a recipe from one of these countries and in small groups researched, cooked and served some dishes to our parents and teachers. We cooked frogs legs, apple puddings, canadian pancakes, bangers and mash and other delectable dishes. We were marked on preparation, presentation, cleaning up, history and research. What a lot of fun we had. Eating the food was one of the best parts!

Recently one of our Dad's organised a great trip for the class to drive deep into our local forest area to watch logging operations first hand. We drove in 4WD vehicles in convoy to watch chainsaws, loggging trucks, loaders, diggers with waratah heads and all sorts of other machines and men clearfelling pine trees. Thanks Mr Watson, parents and forestry operators for a great experience.
