In math class, I invested in three stocks; Honda Motor Company, The Walt Disney Company, and Staples. The reason I picked Honda is because my family gets their cars from Honda. I also picked Disney because I usually go to Disney World in Florida for vacation. I picked staples because I just bought a ton of school supplies from Staples and I also really couldn't think of anything else. These are the reasons that I picked these stocks.
When we first started the unit, I thought these stocks were doing really well. In reality, two of them didn't. I would have invested in Google instead of Honda because Google did really well, but Honda fell a lot. I also should have invested in apple instead of Staples. Apple makes a lot more money than staples, so it would have been better. I would keep Disney because it does really well, and I hope it continues to. These are just some of the things I would change in my investments.
I have learned a lot about stocks, and if someone asked for advice, then I could give it to them. When you are thinking of buying into a stock, look at the recent graphs to see how they have been doing. This will give you an idea on how they will do. You should also choose companies that sell popular products so they do well. The company shouldn't have major competition (example: netflix and xfiniti drove blockbuster out of business). This is some advice for the stock market that I would give.

I look through the mob of people crowding around the game board. I am apparently right defense and Sophia is on my right. I run out to the field, following our goalie. I get into position and watch the other team's cheer, and then they run onto the field. Their offense is small. I can definitely get the ball past them.
As our team steals the ball from their offense, our midfields go up, sprinting to the orange, small thing. WHACK! the ball is smacked toward the goal from inside the half circle around it. the crowd cheers. We scream and run toward our goalie. The biggest part of my screaming is that we won our first game 4-0. There is actually a small part that is just so happy it could die. YAY! I got out of the millions of flies swarming my head. I rip the tape off of my ears that were covering my earrings. I push my goggles into my hair.
"We won! We actually won!" Emily screams.
As I run toward my parents, my cleats crunch on the turf.
As I meet them, I say, "This is definitely a night to go out for pizza."
20 minutes later, we pull into the parking lot, ready for the biggest pizza party with Lauren ever.

I am The Rock Cycle

The rock cycle
This paragraph is about me being the rock cycle. That includes the igneous rock, the sedimentary rock, and the metamorphic rock.
Sedimentary rock
This paragraph is the sedimentary rock. This rock is the one you usually find while you are walking in the woods; the one with the layers. This rock can turn into an igneous rock, a metamorphic rock or it can turn back into sediment and into a sedimentary rock. This is how it can turn back into a sedimentary rock:
It goes through uplift and exposure,
It goes through weathering,
It goes through transportation, depositation, and lithification and then it is a sedimentary rock again!
It may turn into a metamorphic rock, too. This is a much quicker process. It goes through metamorphism and then it is a metamorphic rock!
There are two ways a sedimentary rock can turn into and igneous rock. This is because there are two kinds of igneous rock; extrusive and intrusive. You may think of the intrusive rocks like crystals and the extrusive as volcanic rocks. This is true.
The sedimentary rock can turn into an intrusive rock by:
Going through metamorphism
Turning into a metamorphic rock
Melting
Magma
Crystallization
Now it is an intrusive igneous rock!
This is how it gets to be an extrusive igneous rock:
Going through metamorphism,
Turning into a metamorphic rock,
Melting,
Magma,
Consolidation.
Now it is an extrusive igneous rock!
Igneous Rock
This part is about me being an igneous rock. This one is the volcanic rocks and crystals. I may turn into a metamorphic rock, a sedimentary rock or back into an igneous rock. I think that being an igneous rock is the most painful out of the three. This is because I have to be in like 1,000 degrees in order to become a crystal and if I want to be a part of a volcano, then I have to stand just sitting there and having lava come right out of me!
This is how I would be in heaven as a sedimentary rock:
I go through uplift and exposure,
I go through weathering,
I go through transportation, depositation, and lithification and then I am a sedimentary rock!
I may turn into a metamorphic rock, too. This is a much quicker process. I go through metamorphism and then it is a metamorphic rock!
These are the ways I can turn back into a painful igneous rock, but there are two ways I can turn back into and igneous rock. This is because there are two kinds of igneous rock; extrusive and intrusive. You may think of the intrusive rocks like crystals and the extrusive as volcanic rocks.
I can turn into an intrusive rock by:
Going through metamorphism
Turning into a metamorphic rock
Melting
Magma
Crystallization
Now I would be another intrusive igneous rock.
This is how I can get to be an extrusive igneous rock:
Going through metamorphism,
Turning into a metamorphic rock,
Melting,
Magma,
Consolidation.
Now I would be another extrusive igneous rock.
Metamorphic Rock
Right now I am being the metamorphic rock. This is the rock commonly found in New Hampshire, Granite. I absolutely love being a metamorphic rock because I have a bit of everything in me. I have crystals, sediment and sometimes some volcanic ash! I can turn into other rocks, though. I can be a sedimentary, igneous or metamorphic. Here’s how I can be a sedimentary rock:
I go through uplift and exposure,
I go through weathering,
I go through transportation, depositation, and lithification and then I am a sedimentary rock!
I may turn into a metamorphic rock, too. This is a much quicker process. I go through metamorphism and then it is a metamorphic rock!
These are the ways I can turn into a beautiful igneous rock, but there are two ways I can turn back into and igneous rock. This is because there are two kinds of igneous rock; extrusive and intrusive. You may think of the intrusive rocks like crystals and the extrusive as volcanic rocks.
I can turn into an intrusive igneous rock by:
Going through metamorphism
Turning into a metamorphic rock
Melting
Magma
Crystallization
Now I would be a beautiful intrusive igneous rock!
This is how I can get to be an extrusive igneous rock:
Going through metamorphism,
Turning into a metamorphic rock,
Melting,
Magma,
Consolidation.
Now I am a fun, extrusive igneous rock!

Reasons for the Seasons

You may wonder if the whole world has the same seasons at the same times. I will give you the answer.
When the sun is directly facing the equator, then it is either spring in the northern hemisphere and fall in the southern hemisphere, or spring in the southern hemisphere and fall in the northern hemisphere. This is called the equinox.
When the North Pole is facing the sun, it is summer in the northern hemisphere and winter in the southern hemisphere.
When the South Pole is facing the sun, then it is summer in the southern hemisphere and winter in the northern hemisphere.

My African Projects

Language Arts: We made African folktales. Mine was a myth about a red-billed quelea that eats a poor farmers field because he gave him poison.
Science: We each got an African animal and had to make a poster about it. My animal was a red-billed quelea. A red-billed quelea is like an African sparrow that eats grass seeds.
Math: In math my class and I each made an African pattern. They aren't allowed to have blue, green or purple colors.
Social Studies: In Social studies we pretended to travel to two places in Africa. I have traveled to Tanzania and I am currently in Seychelles.
Art: We made whistles in art. We will copy our african patterns from math onto our whistles. They are made of clay.
Technolpgy Education: We are making mbiras. Mbiras are like a wooden thumb piano.
Music: In music we are learning about African music.
