Title: Science Experiment (03/05/10)
Description: Your first assignment is to write about your favorite science experiment from this year. You will need to explain the experiment, what you liked about it, and why it is your favorite. You will need to work on this between now and Wednesday. You may use your science notebook to look back at the experiments we have completed so far. Have fun!

My favorite sience experiment was the owl pellet. We took the bones from the other animals out.It was so gross. But we had tools so I was fine with it.I Found a skull from an animal.Im not sure what type of animal it was.I think it was a mouse. We had to wiegh the bones.I was so glad to be done.THE END.

My class is learning about electricty. We did a experiment with D-cell batteries. We made a series circuit.A series circuit is a circuit with only one pathway. We had one battery and the light was dim ,then we added one more battery and the light got much brigther. It was so cool! I hope you learn about circuits. I can't wait till the next experiment!

One day we were in class and we made a food web,it was so much fun.We had string and diffrent names of animals and our teacher took her string went to the top of the food web to the bottom of the food web.At the end when we tried to get the food web apart we all got stuck together. You should try it one time=http://!

static electricity -- Moon Phase Experient

Article posted March 10, 2010 at 02:14 PM GMT0 • comment (3) • Reads 974

My favorite experiment was the one where we used vanilla wafers and the icing.for the unit of the phases of the moon. The 8 phases of the moon are Nemoon, Waxing cresent,First quarter, Waxing gibbous, Fullmoon, Wanning gibbous, Last quarter, Wanning cresent. What I liked about this experiment is it taught us something about the moon phases.Another reason I liked it is because we got to eat the vanilla wafers and the icing. That was the fun part.

solar eclipse -- Circuit

Article posted March 10, 2010 at 02:12 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 889

Hi.I am going to tell you about the science circuit. The circuits were cool.We had to attach a Dcell to a blue circuit board.Next we had to put wires to the Dcell. Then we needed to put a metal switch. After that we must put a red disk on to the blue circuit board. Then screw in a lightbulb. Now we need to test it by opening and closing the circuit.[rearange if needed]Now we have to put insulators[wood rubber plasic]and put conductors[like metal]and if the light goes on, we have a conductor, and if the light stays off, that is an insulator. We have a circuit!!

full moon4 -- Vannila Wafers Experiment

Article posted March 10, 2010 at 02:08 PM GMT0 • comment (3) • Reads 1033

The Vannila Wafers Experiment was my favorite experiment because we put icing over the vannila wafers to make them look like all the phases of the moon! The phases of the moon are New Moon, Waxing Crecent,Waxing First Qurter,Waxing Gibbous,Full Moon,Waining Gibbous,Waining Last Qurter,Waining Crecent!

electron3000 -- dicected owl pellets

Article posted March 10, 2010 at 02:11 PM GMT0 • comment (5) • Reads 880

Barn Owls mate and make nest of sticks and owl pellets. They lay 3or4 eggs they feed there young 2to3 times a day and they hunt at night to. The Barn Owl is an endangerd speicies to so people have to protect them. After we finished learning about Barn Owls we dicected an owl pellet. It had bones like ribs, shoulderblades, and jaws. And it fur like rat fur, mole fur,and vole fur.It felt really hard so we used a tooth and twisers. lightning -- Circuit Board

Article posted March 10, 2010 at 02:11 PM GMT0 • comment (2) • Reads 878

My favorite science project was when my class made a circuit board. First: we needed a D.sized battery. Now we put the battery into the battery holder. Now we need three wires and a lightbulb. Now we connect 1 wire to the positive side of the battery then on the other side of the wire we connect it to the switch. From the switch we get the second wire and you connect it to the lightbulb.Third:You get the third wire and plug into the left end of the lightbulb then you connect the other end of the wire to the battery. Then you open the circuit (cutting on the light)then the lightbulb turns on.If you take the battery out the lightbulb turns off.(You need adult supervision if you are doing this)A parrelell circuit is more brighter than the series circuit(circuit board).

My favriote project we did in science was disecting owl pellets. It was fun because we got to find bones of rodents and stuff an owl ate. Their was hair around the bones and we got to rip the hair open and you didn't know what you where going to find in the owl pellet. It was the most fun project I have ever done in science. That is why I picked it!!

My favorite experiment in science is circit . When we used D battery, little light bulbes, and wires. It was fun when we hooked the battery up and the wires hooked up with the battery and the wires hookeed up the light and we turned the circit on and off . It worked and it was fun.

My favorite science experiment was making a circuit.I used a d-cell,battery.I attached wires to the battery, switch, and the light.I tried differnt methods to see if the light would work. The conduters and insulators are differnt.I liked it it because the electrons flowed through the wires.

Series circuits are cool. You have a battery, wirs,a swich,a light bulb.connet them together and a light turns on .Then we atached a nother battery. Then we took it apart. I had fun that day.

sun -- Eperimen with a series circuit

Article posted March 11, 2010 at 03:26 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 915

My faborite cience experimet was with the series circit We wanted to see how to make a lightbub turn on. First we collected the thigs needed to do the ex periment;1.a board,2.two D cell
batteries,2.four red wires, 4.one swich,5.one lightbub.

Then we put the batteries on the bottom of the boar and the switch and the lightbub on the top.
Next we connected the two batteries with a
wire.
We also connected one battery to the lighbulb, the other to the switch, and the lightbulb to the switch. Finally we connected the lightbulb to the other battery.

We could then turn on and off the light by controlling the switch.

This was a very good experiment.

solar system -- owl pellet

Article posted March 10, 2010 at 02:11 PM GMT0 • comment (4) • Reads 881

my fav. science project is owl pellet because we find bones of other animals like Rodants,Moles, and Mice!It was cool.We got to use tootpicks if you didn't want to touch the owl pellet. We had pinchers to help you pick up the bones with. You have a sheet to help you tell what kind of animal it is I think you will find a lot of ribs out of all the bones you might find a catapillers leg.I found a skull of a Rodant I was exicted that I did!If you have not tryed it you should it is fun.

My favorite science project was owl pellets. We took them apart to find mouse bones.Owls cough six or seven up a day, while using them for a nest.I found lots of fur and two full mice in one pellet. You have to be careful or the bones will break.I used a pair of plastic twesers and a pointed pice of wood. I used a Barn owl's pellet. It was fun and difficult.

My favorite science experiment was when our class did the vinegar and water with chalk experiment.First we filled one cup with vinegar and one with water.Second we broke a piece of chalk in half. Third we dropped one piece of chalk in the vinegar and one piece in the water.Fouth we waited until the next dayto see which liquid would make the chalk dissolve quicker.Fith we picked up the pieces of chalk that were left to feel and see which one was bigger and which one was smaller. The vinegar dissolved more quicker.THE END.

My favorite science experiment was when we used vanilla wafers and icing to make the moon phases like cresent moon, waxing gibbous, new moon, full moon, waning cresent, and half moon.It was my favorite because it was really messy and when we where done we got to eat them, witch was really good, and it ws also a good study technique. That was such a fun experiment and it helped me learn my moon phases=http://!

A few months ago we were learning about the moons phases .(by the way this is probably one of the tastiest experaments we have had all year!)First we got a napkin and a sheet with all eight phases of the moon. Then we got eight wafers and a cup of cream. After that we spred the cream onto the wafer to make a phase of the moon and had our teacher check it.Then we started eating. I didn't know the moon could be st tasty!
