This year in Math class we did a stock project that allowed us to invest $10,000 into three stocks in the NASDAQ or NY Stock Exchange. The companies I selected for this Stock Project were Verizon Communications, Gulf Resources, and the Hershey Company.

I decided to invest in Verizon Communications because it is a good strong company. Also Verizon Communications was going to get the new iPhone, so it would help my stock do better. Verizon Communications was a New York Stock Exchange company, part of the largest US stock exchange. I chose Gulf Resources at blush because it was cheap, and because of the economy I thought oil would be good to invest in. It really was a blind bid. I went out on a limb with this Stock purchase, because I randomly chose it. Gulf Resources was a NASDAQ Stock. Gulf Resources was having a bear market rally. I chose Hershey Company because I love chocolate, and I wanted to invest in something fun. The holidays were coming up as well, so I thought that would help my stock value increase in the Hershey Company.

The changes I would make to my stock project after watching the stock market would be very few. For Verizon Communications I would only buy more shares in the stock so I could get more money because it was a bullish stock. For Gulf Resources I would want to research more about the company to know more about it. If I had researched Gulf Resources more I would not have picked that stock. I lost a lot of money with Gulf Resources and it almost crashed. Gulf Resources was a bear stock and a Chinese company. Hershey's company was my best stock. It had a bulge. The only thing I would change for this Stock would be to buy more shares. Hershey Company stock was bullish like Verizon Communications.

The advice I would give to people who are interested in investing would be to know about your companies before you buy stock in those companies. For Verizon Communications, I knew a lot about the stock, but I still checked it out. Gulf Resources was a stock I did not know much about, and my advice is to know what you are investing in. Hershey Company was a stock that I knew about and had fun with. You should pick stocks that you like, so you can have fun with investing. Overall this project was a good learning experience for me.

Overall this was a good learning experience that I will use in the future if I decide to invest in stocks. I thought this was a fun project that was very exciting and I am glad we had the chance to do it, and practice investing money.
