Antarctica Flag

Article posted March 18, 2011 at 05:30 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1192

My flag of Antarctica is a pretty good example of how their flag should look like. In the center of the flag I made was Antarctica. I chose to put that there so when people look at it they know what Antarctica looks like. I chose to put glitter in it to represent the amazing ice. I put a penguin in the upper left corner to show they had penguins. I put another penguin in the middle right hand spot to show they also had different types of penguins. I also put a seal in the lower left hand corner to show they also had seals. I left the back round white to show snow. That's but not least I put Antarctica in the lower right hand, to show that if you hadn't already known it was Antarctica.

The iris is named after the goddess of the rainbow.

There are glands on the lower eyelid that clean the eye and keeps it safe.

Personal Narrative: The Last Minute

Article posted December 3, 2010 at 07:29 PM GMT • comment • Reads 836

It was the last minute of the game and all I was thinking was, "GOAL, GOAL, WIN!". The balls pasted to me and my hearts pounding with the adrenaline rush. Everyone is cheering, so I get nervous, of course. I pass the ball perfect pass. A player, on our team, takes the shot but the goalie saves it. The ball is out, "corner kick" says the referee. I line up with everyone else and the ball is kicked. Everyone's wild and it reminds me about apes in the jungle. The parents are the head apes. And I yell. "PASS, PASS, NOW!!!" She passes to me and everyone's silent, soI think of everything that can go wrong, typical me. 5 seconds left so I line the shot up, 2 seconds, AHHH, I shoot. GOAL! We win. The pressure all goes away. I run to my coach she says, "I wonder how you get through the day....BUT GREAT KICK! Soccer is fun, esspecially when you win and it's your goal!!

Space Essay

Article posted November 5, 2010 at 05:36 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1031

Living in space is all the fun you think it is, but you have to do a lot of experiments. Some experiments are: medical experiments, to make sure their health is okay, plant growth experiments and many more. Many tasks are preformed while orbiting Earth. Other tasks are cleaning themselves, cleaning filters in the space suits, cleaning the suits in general and last but not least, and working on the Space Station. You have to exercise. Exercising is very hard in space because there's 0 gravity. If you haven't been on Earth and where you are there's 0 gravity, you have to use those mussels somehow or another. You may ask why you would need to work out. You need to work out because if you go on Earth, using no mussels and just floating around, you going to break your legs. Another question you may ask is, how do they use there mussels in 0 gravity? It's very important to work out. Fun facts are: reading, throwing food in the air and eating it, and many, many more. A space suit is very complicated; there are many different parts to it. Some parts are, hard upper torso, which connects to the arm assemblies, and the lower torso assembly, the helmet, and many more things that protect them. As you can see with all the things above, it’s very complicated. Space is fun, difficult, and complicated but the astronauts put up with it, and I hope you now know what it’s actually like.
