This is my Antarctica flag that I made in Science class for a homework assignment. Antarctica is does not have its own flag because it is not legally owned by a certain person. Many people in my class made their flag with an animal from Antartica, mine has a penguin that is in Antarctica. I enjoyed this assignment, i thought it was a fun activity.

Mr. Gianforte came to our school and talked to us about space and stars in our universe. I learned a lot about planets, stars and radial velocity method. I also learned about exosolar planets and that there are 443 of them. There are a lot of galaxies and that there are other universes outside of our solar system. I thought it was really interesting and I would love to learn more about it.

As I wake to the sound of birds chirping and the wind blowing on my face, I think of the big day ahead of me. Today we are climbing the Six Husbands trail, a very steep, rocky, and dangerous trail.
I wake up Izzy, right beside me.
“Izzy, Izzy wake up its time to get ready.” I say, shoving her.
“Stop, I want to sleep,” she said. “No Izzy there's no time for more sleep, we need to get a move on it”, I say while I pack up my belongings. So she gets out of her sleeping bag, we pack up and start up the Six Husbands trail. My dad is leading us and my cousin David is behind Izzy and me as the caboose.
With the wet cold, icky and rainy weather, today was not the best day for a hike. Our bags were as heavy as a truck full of bricks and we had already been hiking for two days so we were very tired. As we start to climb the ladder of fear, I'm thinking about all the things that could go wrong. IF I mess up once I’m done. “This looks so scary,” Izzy said. “I know but we can do it,” I said trying to get her a little more excited about it,” said the rest of us. “Ready to start climbing?” said my dad. “Yes we are,” said the rest of us. So we started climbing with me in front my dad behind me, Izzy behind my dad and my cousin David behind Izzy. The first ladder wasnt that hard but it kept on getting harder. To me, the third ladder was the hardest and scariest. I went up the ladder, very slowly and carefully. When I got to the top there was no where to go. “Dad”, I said very scared. “Ya.” “I don't think I can do this.” “Sure you can”, he said trying to encourage me. “Ok, I'll try.” So I started climbing up the steep and very slippery flat rock sticking out from the side. “Phew”, I said to myself thinking that I could have died. Thankfully we all made it to the top safe. Izzy and I were so happy! “Wow that was some tough work”, my dad said. “It sure was”, we said agreeing with my dad. “Now this part is easy”, my dad said. When we were heading down the mountain, and soon to the car. We started talking about how proud we were after we finished the hike, and how much fun it actually was. “We were almost there!” We said runnning down to the car so excited. We drove home all so happy and warm in the car perfectly safe.
“Would you guys want to do that again next year?” my dad said.
“Are you serious, no way!” the rest of us said.

Reasons of the Seasons

In one year, 365 days the earth rotates around the sun in a 23.5 angle, which causes the seasons to change.
Winter Solstice: It is winter in the southern hemisphere, when the axis is tilted towards the sun because the sun's rays are pointing towards the nothern hemisphere which makes it summer there.
Summer Solstice: When the axis is facing the other way the southern hemisphere is getting all of the sun's rays making it summer in the southern hemisphere and winter in the nothern hemisphere.
Vernal Equinox: It is fall in the south and spring in the north because the tropic of cancer is towards the sun.
Autumnal Equinox: It is spring in the south and fall in the north because the sun is facing the tropic of cancer.
The Autumnal and Vernal Equinoxs occur because of the position of the earth and the sun.

Get in the gate
shivering, freezing cold hand
i have the butterflies
racer ready
10 seconds
5,4,3,2,1
snapo, as the
medal rod opens
I come flying
out of the gate
turn right,
turn left,
cross the finish
the crowd cheers
butterfies go away
I won my first gold metal
