Science: I made a poster on the meerkat. I was suprised that there was so many facts on it. My poster was nice. They live underground in tunnels and they like to stand up on their back legs.
Language Arts: I wrote about 2 meerkats that go across the continent in search for the Tablet of Africa. The Tablet of Africa is this thing that made Africa the way it is today.
Math: In math we made African pattern posters. We had to show a rotation, reflection and a translation (slide). I chose to use African colors like orange and green.
Social Studies: We pretended that we went on a trip to Africa. I went to Kenya and Egypt. We used checks, passports, and more. In Egypt I visited the Pyramids, cruised the Nile and dived in the Red Sea.
Technology Education: We made m'biras thumb piano. We had to wood burn an African pattern on them. I had to cut the metal to make the keys.
Music: We studied music and African traditions. We played with some sticks and tossed them back and forth. They do this as a game in Africa.
Art: In art we made clay whistles and put african paterns on them. They work well. I love to blow my while walking.
