I want to welcome my new Grade 3 class and their parents to our classroom blog. It is a wonderful tool to keep parents and their families updated. As well, there are many educational links on the side that children can use for hours. If you are not sure where something is... easy, just ask your child. Have fun blogging and don't forget to leave a comment or post an email if you have a question. Have fun blogging!!!!

We are looking for students in Australia or another country to exchange flat people with. If you aren't familiar with the story Flat Stanley, a boy becomes flat from a bulletin board falling on him. He experiences different things throughout his day. We would like to make flat people to send/exchange with someone to send somewhere so that we can learn about your community. We live in Canada and are looking to send them to another country for an adventure! If you are interested, please email me or leave me a comment. we would love to hear form you!

The last two days I have been in Saskatoon learning new and exciting things to teach my students about technology. I went to several workshops and learned many new things that I hope to encorporate in my classroom and share with my fellow colleagues. I even met a blogger from classblogmeister who has done some amazing work, Kathy Cassidy. If you haven't already been to her blog, do so, it's a must see. It is truly amazing what you can do with technology and on the internet now. Technology is changing so fast and we don't even realize it. I got the opportunity this afternoon to Skype with a grade 5 class from Regina and it was amazing. I hope to learn how to do this and post a few articles on Skype in the near future on my blog. I learned several new ideas and met a lot of really great people. I made many new connections who I hope to keep in contact with in the future. I will soon post some great sites that I got from these sessions on our blog, so keep posted and keep checking for updates.
Remember to continue to follow my blog as I will be continually updating it. You can also add me to your links. Until later, keep blogging!

Please continue to practice your multiplication facts up to 5 X 10 and counting money. We will hopefully be flying to the moon next week. Each planet on our bulletin board has a multiplication fact family on it and when we get to the moon we know all of our multiplication facts up to and including the 5 X facts. When all of the Grade 3 students have their multiplication facts mastered we get to make aliens.

We are already practicing for our Grade 3 spring garage sale. Students are very excited to begin. I have asked my students to tell their parents that when they are spring cleaning "NOT to throw anything away." We will begin collecting in June. We sell things such as: stuffed animals, baking, girls toys, boys toys, hockey cards, cars, jewellery, trinkets, etc. I will keep you posted as it gets closer to the date. The Garage Sale will be towards the end of June.
