From 4th grade to 5th

Article posted June 2, 2010 at 02:35 AM GMT • comment • Reads 629

I think that this year I have improved on many things including, redoing work and writing in cursive. I think that redoing is important because it can really help your grades go up. I remember that in 3rd grade I almost never redid work unless it was below a B. But this year I’ve redone anything below an A.
I think writing in cursive is important because 5th grade teachers don’t want you writing in print all the time (at least that’s what Mrs. Crosby says!). I have improved in this because last year I would only write in cursive if I was thinking about it, and this year I write in cursive all the time.

In 5th grade I would like to continue working on, group work and remembering my name on papers. I think I need to improve in group work because; I tend to want to just do everything on my own rather than with the actual group. I also can get impatient with people when they don’t understand things, all talk at the same time, or when they don’t pay attention and sit around doing nothing.
I think I can improve on remembering my name on papers because, again as Mrs. Crosby would say,"5th grade teachers will not let you just put your name back on it and turn it in, they will give you a zero or they will have you redo the whole thing!" And I don’t know about you, but I don’t think that I would really enjoy that too much. Those are the things I want to work on in 5th grade and the things I think that I have improved on , but I would like to also keep working on even more.

one day

I remember one time when I was in first grade I saw someone on the swings, all alone decided to join her. It turned out that she was in first grade too, and that this was her first year at a new school. Her name was Kierra. Kierra and I became best friends. I am sooo… glad that I joined her. Also within the next few years of school she joined my brownie troop, was in my third grade class, and she joined my soccer team. Kierra and I are still best friends, and now we’re closer than ever.

fav. book

My favorite book I’ve read in school would be Chasing Vermeer. I haven’t quite finished it yet. I like this book because it is a really good mystery, involving a very serious crime. A very famous painting of Vermeer’s has been stolen. Just before the crime two students’s named Petra and Calder’s teacher, Ms.Hussy has been acting very odd. Their curiosity leads them to many surprises including a suspicious book called, lo and an underground maze. They know that they have to find the painting before it’s to late. Petra and Calder have more questions than answers. Like I said earlier I haven’t finished the book yet, and if I gave you a whole summary this would be like five pages long.

An Italian Icon

Article posted March 19, 2010 at 12:50 AM GMT • comment (4) • Reads 239

One place that I would really like to go over the summer is Italy. I would like to go here because; I would love to see all the amazing art and architecture. It would seem like visiting the past, except with great food. Another reason is because of the great food, unlike the disgusting food that other countries serve. My last reason is that I’m going to open a fashion company with my friend Stephanie in Italy. In Italy I would do some major shopping. I’d get all the supplies I would need to start designing Italian shoes, purses, and other accessories for our company. I’d just be one step further to my goal, so watch out Italy because there are two new fashion icons in town.

Olympics

I think that swifter, higher, stronger means that there is always room for improvment, and that the only way to get better at something is to try harder and practice.
I think that the creed means that the most important thing is not to win but to try hard. That also means at the end of the day you should be proud with what you have done. And to use your mistakes and learn from them, then next time you can do even better.
I didn't watch much of the Olympics but I did see the ski people who did some sort of jumping thing. They were actually pretty impressive. And almost all of them were wearing yellow Fisher skiis. I wonder why? But I did think they were showing a replay for a while until another person came down the hill without showing ten replays!

My Path to Success

Article posted January 27, 2010 at 02:55 AM GMT • comment (7) • Reads 277

When I get older there are many jobs I would like to do. When I get to be sixteen I would like to work as an intern in a law or design office. I would to like to do this job because, I eventually would like to become a designer or lawyer at a law office or at a design studio. I hope to be an inter in both places that way I can decide what one I would like to make a career out of.
My plan one is to become a lawyer. I would like to do this job because of many reasons. First of all I do enjoy arguing and I am quite good at it. Also I don’t think it would stress me out like some things might do. It also doesn’t involve blood, one thing I will faint at the sight of. Also you would get to meet some amazing people with great personalities, and even more amazing stories to hear. I also have the memory of a life-time which would be great for memorizing those huge text books “I mean look at them”!!! I don’t think I’d ever get bored being a lawyer.
If I’m not a lawyer you guessed it I’m going to be a designer. I would love to be a designer because, I love, and I mean love fashion. I always know what is going to happen next in the fashion world then I get it and wear it before any one else can. In the fashion world you always need to be one step ahead of the game, that is if you want to stay on top. I also would enjoy this job because I love to put together outfits and jewelry to create the perfect fashion masterpiece. If I’m a designer I’m going to become more famous than Louie Vutton, Coach, or Prada. I’m going to call my business Abalishus (aba-li-sh-us). And I’m going to create the ultimate fashions. They are going to be amazing yet unforgettable. They will be so great they will blind you with greatness!
No matter what job I pick I know I’ll always be taking the right path, and I will be.

My First Cat!

Article posted January 12, 2010 at 02:43 AM GMT • comment (8) • Reads 289

A funny thing that happened in my life was the time I got my first cat. I made my mom drive me all around town until I found the perfect cat. By that time we must have visited at least three different pounds!!! But it was at the S.P.C.A. that I fell in love with a cute, little, black kitty. I knew right away that I wanted her. I had the lady take her I.D. number then we went to go pick up my sister from kindergarten. When we got back to the pound my sister picked out a cute tabby cat with lots of little freckles. When the lady went to grab the cat I had chosen earlier she grabbed the wrong cat. I obviously explained to her that it was the wrong cat even though they all looked identical. After quite a bit of time she finally got the correct cat. Then the poor cats were shoved into a cardboard box, with only a few a few holes lining the top. The entire way home they were poking their paws out of the holes in the box. I couldn’t wait any longer I was about to open the box when suddenly we stopped and I realized that we were home. I quickly snatched up the box, being careful not to startle the cats and I ran inside. Once I got upstairs, with my sister following I opened the box and out sprang the cats. They were probably happy because we let them out of the box and they seemed tired too, probably from the car ride. They snuggled up in our laps and went to sleep. I named my cat Rosy and my sister named her cat Chloe. We love our cats and we still have them today along with our newest member of the family Maggie the puppy or as we call her the baby.
