I just found out who my teacher is for fifth grade and that made me realize how much I'll miss you, Mrs. Crosby. I'm excited to finally be going into fifth grade but don't get me wrong, I will really miss fourth grade. I have really good memories from fourth grade and I'm sure that I'l make some in fifth grade to, but they won't come close to being the same:( I have mixed feelings about going into fifth grade as you can see, but one thing is for sure....I'LL MISS YOU MRS. CROSBY=http://

Goodbye 4th Grade; Hello 5th Grade!

Article posted June 3, 2010 at 03:01 AM GMT • comment • Reads 210

I'v had a really good time in 4th grade with Mrs.Crosby. She taught us a lot but with lots of activities. It'll definitely be sad to leave Mrs.Crosby, no dout, but I really think that I'm prepared for 5th grade all because of good old Mrs.Crosby. To thank you, our beloved Queen Crosby, I would like to share to you all of the things that I got better at in your fourth grade class...here goes! In your class, I really got better at speaking out at a crowd. That includes posture, speaking loudly and clearly, keeping eye contact, etc. You helped us with Native American skits and storytelling which was extremely fun (especislly memorising lines). Also, we got to make up fun little poems to explain the lives of s famous person of your choise. All of those activities that you did with us helped us learn to speak in front of a crowd.
Another major thing that I got better at in fourth grade was keeping my patience. When we started the picture book, I have to admit that I just wanted to do the pictures but I realized how many more steps there are to it. Brainstorming, having you check it, rough draft, having peers check it, having you check it, typing it up, having you check it several more times, start your rough draft pictures, having you check them, and finally starting on the actual book! Now I know that patience is one of the most important things if you were to open a business and for that, I thank you because now I know that it'll be handy!
As for fifth grade, I would like to work on meating up my writing pieces because I know that fifth grade teachers don't have toorance for little wimpy writing pieces. I'm using this blog for a practice run...how do you think it's going so far? I hope that in fifth grade I can choose very descriptive words in sentences to make it more interesting to read!
I'm also going to try to stay stress free. Oh, wouldn't that make life easier if everyone was stress free? In my oppinion, yes of course! I just can't stand it when I'm stressed! It makes me want to scream. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! I'm planning to do that by not leaving big reports for the last minute. If I get into a habbit of doing that, then the rest will hopefully be easier! Well, wish me luck!!!

Fun in the Sun

Article posted May 14, 2010 at 05:01 AM GMT • comment • Reads 181

Over Spring break, I went to Laguna beach to see our family. We saw our grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and for me.... my god sister! My god sister's name is Lauren Jade Katz and I'm very close to her. My god parents names' are Dee Katz and Norm Katz. It was her birthday over the weekend and we decided to go see her. She had just turned four years old and we went to the beach to have some fun with her. I taught her some very fun beach games such as, running away from the waves, tossing the beach ball, jumping over small waves, making masterpieces in the sand, and much more.Lauren really enjoyed running away from the waves so we did that for most of the time. As for the sand, she loved that also and made up a new game called, "Find seaweed, shells, or pebbles and throw them all over the place!" It's a good thing that there weren't many people at the beach that day:) After we finished the sand masterpieces, she absolutely LOVED stomping on every single clump of sand until it was tiny little grains again. The last thing that she wanted to do at the beach before lunch was to find crabs along the rocks. Now, I knew that there were none and that I was probably wasting all of my time but I volunteered to take her crab hunting anyway. It was worth it to see the smile on her face when I told her that I would go with her. We jumped over rock and skipped merrily as we went. She calls us her "Girl Cousins" and said that she was very happy even though we didn't find any crabs. I knew then that I didn't waste any of my time crab hunting because I got to spend lots of time with Lauren. I made her really happy and I hope that she never forgets the day at the beach with her Girl Cousin and the crab hunting. I feel really good about what I did at the beach. It turned out to be a lot of fun in the sun!

A Mixture of Feelings

Article posted April 21, 2010 at 03:34 AM GMT • comment (5) • Reads 205

A book that I read that really stood out to me was, The Island of the Blue Dolphins. There was just sooo much detail that is was very hard to finally rip away my face from it's pages! It was about a girl named Karana who was alone on the Island of the Blue Dolphins for 18 years. She used great survival skills that she learned from the village men when she was younger and was afraid to make weapons because she was a woman. Also, she captured, saved, and healed over 5 animals. With most of the animals she healed, she also became friends with them and began feeding them on a regular basis. In total she saved two wild dogs, three birds, and three otter. Karana seems like a really good person, doesn't she?! Anyway, I really loved this book because when I red it, I felt a mixture of feelings. Happy, sad, hopeful, hopeless, etc. Many people died in this book but also there were people that tried to save others also. Now you can see why I loved that book! If you get a chance, you should read it also.

Ciao!

Article posted March 17, 2010 at 02:41 AM GMT • comment (6) • Reads 233

Hello! Hi! Ciao! Ciao means "Hello!" and "Goodbye" in Italian. If I got to choose where in the world that I could go, it would be Italy because I absolutely, positively LOVE, with a capital "L" Italian food and seafood. One convenient thing for seafood lovers in Italy,is that the Mediterranean Sea is right by Italy! I would also like to go to Italy because they were the ones that invented pasta and pizza! If you're going to know me, then know me well...rule #1 is that pizza and pasta are my heroes. When I'm about to die, that saves me because it's my heart medicine(just like Mrs.Crosby's smarties.) I bet that you are asking why I like this sooo much but the truth is that I don't know!? That's another thing about me, you never know why I like the things I like.

As you read in my jobs article, when it comes to fashion, I become serious and you won't want to disturb me, OR ELSE!!! Now we're learning another reason why I want to go to Italy so badly. I love fashion and I bet that European Fashion is 10 times more extraordinary than America's. As a perfect souvenir from Italy for me would be 1,000,000,000 different pieces of fabric and a lifetime supply of seafood spaghetti. Do me a favor will you? Go to Italy for me and pretty please by me those specific souvenirs, you'll be my best friend in the world!!!
Don't Forget!
Ciao!

The Olympic Games Are AWESOME!

Article posted February 24, 2010 at 02:50 AM GMT • comment • Reads 127

The motto for the Olympic Games is short but important to those who are participants in them. To me it means that when you are invited to the Olympics, you need to work extra hard and have to be stronger and faster than other people because this is your moment to shine. The creed of the Olympics contains very important information also. It mentions how the most important thing isn't to win or lose;just to take part. I think that it means that once you've worked very hard and think your the best, never stop practicing hard because you never know when something like the Olympics is going to offer you something important like that in life. If you choose not to work hard because your good enough then your very irresponsible because working hard is what got you into the Olympics in the first place. So if your about to give up on your dream then don't because there's always tomorrow to work at it even harder. My favorite sport to watch on the Olympics is Figure Skating, The Snowboarding Half Pipe, and Hockey. If you watched the Hockey game between the U.S and Canada, you could definitely tell that the U.S worked hard for the victory:) That's what I think the creed and motto for the Olympics means.

I Love Animals!

Article posted January 27, 2010 at 01:18 AM GMT • comment (7) • Reads 258

It started one sunny afternoon on a Saturday I think, and I felt like a couch potato so I jumped on the couch. I turned on the T.V and started channel surfing. When I came across Animal Planet, I stopped to see what was playing. It was a show called, " The Wildlife Rescuers." I haven't heard of this show so I started to watch it. I'm a big animal lover and Animal Planet is one of my favorite channels. I was really interested by this show because it was all about animals! This one rescue team split up and went searching for animals in need. The first animal they found was an abandoned baby deer. They took it in their sanctuary and cared for it for a few years. When she was ready, they let it go in the wild again. Like I said, I'm a complete ANIMAL LOVER! Can you guess what happened? I wanted to be one of those people. But then I thought it over and thought how it would be hard to let the animals go after you've had them for a while. Then again I'd do anything to help a poor animal. What I've decided to do is that I'll try it once, and if I'm to sad to let it go then I will quit that job and go for another one of my " Dream Jobs," a... Fashion Designer!
I also want to be a fashion designer because my sister inspired me to be one. She is super fashionable even though she has uniforms for school. She definitely knows style! Jess and I were also thinking to open up a new line and live together in an apartment in New York City! Just think of it...me, as a Fashion Designer! All because of my sister! There's a huge possibility that I can live with her and do one of our " Dream Jobs " together in the same company! Talk about stylish sisters!

An Unforgetable Day

Article posted January 14, 2010 at 03:56 AM GMT • comment (8) • Reads 312

So it was a few days before New Years Eve and my sister was babysitting for Tori. She was going watch us for a while so my mom had to call someone else. My sister can't drive, so Tori had to pick her up. When she got to my house,we opened the door for her. But when we did, a bird came out of nowhere and flew in our house! When my sister left, we made a plan to get the bird out of the house. So my other sister, Ally and I went upstairs and shut all of the doors to the rooms. Also, we made sure that it didn't fly up there, my mom opened all of the doors that lead outside, and My dad got out the broom. The bird was on the tree by now and my dad tried to brush it outside. It didn't work it flew on the air vent. It flew all around and we chased it. A few minutes later, my babysitter arrived. Since all of the doors were open she came in our house. We don't get to see her to much because she goes to college. Then she helped us catch the bird. When it was flying, my dad hit it with the broom and it landed right in my Christmas Tree! We found it but it flew back upstairs. My mom tried to cover it with a sheet but it didn't work. then she tried to grab it from behind. she ended up pulling out a few of it's tail feathers. After that, my dad picked it up with a towel and put it on a tree outside. FINALLY!
