Olympic Events - Short Track Speed Skating
Short track speed skating is in a 111.12 metre oval within a hockey rink. Short track is different then long track. In long track there is a time limit and in short track you race to the finish. Short track you need a lot of supplies like a hard shelled helmet, cut resistence clothes, knee pads and elbow pads. Short track speed skating dates back to the 13th century. In 2002 Ko Gi-Hyun won the gold medal in the womens 1500m. She was only 15!
