A planetoid is a name given to a celestial object that isn't large enough to be considered a planet, but are also too small to be classified as a meteorite. They are thought to consist of debree from our solar system. They are also thought to be the reason why gas giants have so many moons. The closest one to us is pluto. It is 5750.54106 kilometers away from earth. Pluto was discovered in 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh. He discovered pluto from studying pictue panels. I think that planetoids are interesting because it shows how small some things can be in our universe.
