Cole Matthews is a character from the book touching spirit bear.Cole got banished to an island for smashing Peter Driscal's head on to the sidewalk.While Cole , Garvey , and Edwin were going to the island Edwin told Cole about the spirit bear.The bear was white and it has lives on the islands near British Columbia. On the island Cole has spotted a bear, a white bear

   Cole ran up to the bear and attacked it .Cole thought that the bear would  turn around and run away but it attacked.When the bear attacked it broke Cole's right arm, his hip, his two legs , and ripped open his chest. The only thing that he could move was his head, and his left arm.

 Cole lied on the ground for a few days. Then there was a storm than knocked down these birds and felt sadness in him. At first he wanted to live then he wanted to live and to live he need food. As he watched these dead birds some had they're beaks open like they were trying to get food, and the others looked like were trying to get back to their nest.

 

   Cole needed to find food so he could live. Cole found and worm near his hand so he picked it up and ate it. Cole needed more food to survives so ate bugs, more worms, and this one little mouse that crawled on his arm while he was sleeping.

After all that eating Cole rested. A few minutes later Cole woke and couldn't see anything. He had gone blind.He heard the seagulls pecking on him.Then the seagulls pulled him to shore.He heard a voice going '' hand in there champ.''He was on a boat!The person going hang there champ was Garvey. Garvey and Edwin brang Cole to the hospital.Garvey asked Cole if he's okay and says that he is but Garvey says that he's not.

  I think Cole is not okay because he's got broken legs, a broken hip, his right arm is borken, and his chest is ripped open.The only thing that he could move is his left arm , his head.

No, I do not think that cole is okay. Because he has had so much happen in his life and he acts tough to hide his true feelings. Cole is defitantily not "Ok: because he had a bear maul him! After having a near death experience cole sundenly wanted to change his life, he wanted to make better choices. He spent 6 months in the hospital, he had to go back to Circle justice. He was facing a Jail Sentence.  But garvey and edwin got him back to Circle justice. But he he had to build his own shelter make his own food and care for himself.  Cole has and now caring for him self back at the island.  I Think Cole will be ok now.

I think Cole is okay because ever since he got attacked by the Spirit Bear it has changed him into a different person. He has found a meaning for him in life, and has realized his mistakes.

Though Garvey thinks that he is not okay because he is on the verge of dying I agree with cole completely. Cole IS okay.

         In the book ''Touching Spirit Bear'' Cole thinks he is ok, but Garvey thinks Cole is not ok because he almost got killed by a bear. I think Cole is ok because he is alive and has been rescued, and he is in a safe place now, and thats what I also thing Cole ment when he said he was ok.

         I only don't think he is okay by the way he looks and how much pain he is in, that's why I thought Garvey said he was not ok.

I think Cole isn't okay because he got attacked by the spirit bear, has broken bones, and has a lot of mosquito bites. What I think Cole Means is that he accepts death and accept being in the Circle Of Life. Cole Is really not okay because he had eaten some bad food like a Rat and has almost half of his blood sucked by the mosquitoes that live there .
